Mortgage Giant Freddie Mac Set to Forcibly Evict Riverside Marine and Family Dozens of supporters to join Riverside homeowner Art de los Santos in last stand as eviction order expires Company refuses to even reevaluate wrongfully foreclosed homeowner’s income.

For immediate release

RIVERSIDE – Beginning the evening of Monday, February 20, embattled homeowner Art de los Santos, his wife Magdalena, and their four kids will be joined by supporters in a dramatic last stand as they attempt to head off eviction and reverse the improper foreclosure of his home by Freddie Mac and JP Morgan Chase. Having received a Sheriff’s notice to vacate that expires at 6:01 a.m. on Tuesday the 21st, Art will announce that he won’t be leaving until he is forced to.What: Marine and family announce “last stand” against government-owned Freddie MacWhen: 6 p.m., Monday, February 20Where: Home of Art de los Santos, 3270 Layton Court, Riverside“This is the American dream that I’ve worked my life to achieve,” Art said, describing the modest three-bedroom house next to Orrenmaa Elementary in Riverside’s La Sierra neighborhood. “I’m just a regular guy who gets up each day, takes the kids to school and goes to work. We’ve done everything the way we were supposed to. But we’re not going to just sit back and let Freddie Mac steal our home.”At Monday’s event, Art and supporters from ACCE and Occupy Riverside will note that it is still up to Freddie Mac and JP Morgan Chase to decide whether to go through with the eviction rather than negotiate the loan modification that he believes he qualifies for. “I’ve never been active in protests,” Art said, “but we decided to fight back for ourselves and for others who are having their lives upended by these banks.”
