Survival is a daily struggle for Orange County domestic violence victims
Orange County’s impotent District Attorney Tony Rackauckas continues to refuse to go after domestic abusers. So the police say and so surviving victims say.
Abusers are allowed to harass their victims post-restraining order at will and nobody in the system shows them any consideration. The police treat restraining orders as something untidy to be worked out by attorneys.
Last week, Christina Ramirez-Diaz, was found dead at her home, apparently a victim of domestic violence. Instead of helping Ramirez-Diaz when she was alive, the police waited until they just had to mop up the body
In July, 2010, Marisela Espinoza was killed by her husband. She was killed after trying to get her husband out of the house. It’s another mom-up operation, where the police and District Attorney failed to protect the victim. Watch commanders blame Rackauckas for their lack of interest in helping domestic violence victims. Why is Rackauckas so tight with batterers and not victims?
Look at Ruth Hull-Richter, the woman at the heart of the Public Guardian scandal. The press heard a recording of the husband attempting to murder his wife and he’s still out free. The husband was allowed to cancel all his wife’s insurance, including her health insurance while she was in the intensive care unit, and to encourage another male to continue the batteries where he left off. Batterers are allowed to beat their victims near death in Orange County and prevent them from getting treatment from the injuries.
Woman after woman in Orange County is getting no help or support of any kind from anyone but the undertaker. Many victims wake up each morning hoping it will be their last. For some, like Christina Rameriz-Diaz and Maria Espinosa, they get their wish.

If you really are Jake Martinez and not just another alias for Ruth Hull-Richter, you've been had. Ms. Hull-Richter was not anywhere near "the center" of the OCPG scandal, she just latched onto it in an effort to avoid prosecution for passing bad checks.

The situation in Orange County is tragic. Ruth H-R, her mother and her daughter could have been killed by her violent husband who is still walking around free. The husband was responsible for those checks bouncing. His disabled wife got stuck with his debts. She lives on state aid, disabled and likely to die from her medical condition, while her rich batterer husband collects a six figure salary. He looted his mother-in-law's savings before the woman was rescued and now the most innocent of victims are receiving no help. This case is a clear example of how violent crime pays in hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I know some of these people. Mark, the husband of Ruth, beat her up for years. He threatened to kill everyone she loved and some of her loved ones have already died. Why isn't he in jail? Possibly because he ran for Congress and has lots of political clout. I'd like to know why victims have to fight for their rights while dangerous men like Mark get to punch out and rob women whenever they feel like it.
