Bio's:

Vicki Tamoush is a second-generation Arab American whose grandparents immigrated to the U.S. from Syria and Lebanon. She has traveled throughout the Middle East and lived in Saudi Arabia for a year and a half. In December, 1990, she traveled to Iraq under the auspices of the Fellowship of Reconciliation to deliver 14 tons of pediatric medical supplies to the Red Crescent Society in Baghdad. She and her colleague offered to exchange themselves for the civilian hostages being held by Saddam Hussein at that time and ultimately secured the release of 181 Americans. Vicki served as the first Western Regional Director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee and was the first Arab American elected to the Board of Directors of the ACLU. She has been active with more than 25 Arab and pacifist organizations since 1978. From the standpoints of both a human relations professional and a victim, Vicki has presented over 500 workshops and lectures on hate crime and cultural diversity issues, also appearing in print and electronic media. Vicki was born and raised outside of San Bernardino, California and was educated at UC Irvine and Immaculate Heart College Center. She currently resides in Orange County.

Don Bustany, born and raised in Detroit, is the son of Lebanese immigrants. He’s a graduate of Wayne State University and Syracuse University. After doing his two years in the Army, he moved to Los Angeles and has worked in radio and television ever since. He retired from commercial broadcasting in 1990 and, as a volunteer, has been producing and hosting a weekly talk show called “Middle East In Focus” on listener-sponsored KPFK Radio. He’s past president of the LA chapter of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee... of the Middle East Cousins Club... of the Arab-Jewish Speakers Bureau... and of the Media Image Coalition of the LA County Human Relations Commission. Currently, he’s on the Board of Americans for Democratic Action.

Roz Rothstein is the International Director of StandWithUs. Roz is a child of Holocaust Survivors. She holds a degree in Psychology and she became a family therapist in 1980, practicing in the state of California for over two decades. Roz was a professional with the Jewish Centers Association for a decade, after which she served on the Boards of Directors of various Jewish organizations in executive capacities, accumulating 25 years of hands on leadership experience in the Los Angeles area. She and her husband, Jerry Rothstein, founded the international Holocaust Arts and Writing Contest, facilitating meetings between thousands of teens and living Survivors of the Holocaust. After the September 2000 Intifada began, the Rothsteins co-founded Standwithus with others.

Roberta Seid: Trained at University of California, Berkeley, where she specialized in social and cultural theory and 19th Century European history, Seid published her research in the Garland Series of Outstanding Dissertations in 1987. Seid went on to lecture in European history at University of Southern California. Interested in the cultural trends concerning women's beauty, Seid published Never Too Thin: Why Women are at War with Their Bodies (Prentice-Hall), a historical critique of America's obsession with thinness, which led to a monthly column in Shape Magazine. Seeing the need for clear, accurate materials about the Middle East, Dr. Seid turned her attention to the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She provides research to the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles and is Historical Research and Education Consultant for StandWithUs, a grassroots, non-profit organization.

by Gag ... Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 at 5:05 PM

What is with all of these fucking crazys? Are they hooked to an I.V. or something wired into the computer like some kind of electronic zombie?
Why are these unstable mental cases on this wire like termites?
Damn it's like the psych ward was assigned to the duty of puking all over each and every thread about the Islamic - Israeli issues and I've never seen such a flurry of trash being dumped on these issues.
What the hell is their problem?
And what's with the inane videos and pictures about religious trivia? Something is trying to bury this page under a load of total trash with out any real dialogue, Double triple and quadruple postings of trash. It's like the whole idea is to swamp this IMC in trash.

Fraud and OpenID

by johnk Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 at 6:03 PM

What do people think of OpenID for registering users? It would allow the users to be registered off-site. The good part is that it's off-site. The bad part is that the OpenID server could be subpoena'd and used to track users here who decided to use OpenID.

Hiding, Reporting

by johnk Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 at 10:33 AM

It got hidden because someone reported it via the buttons. I don't content-check the israel/palestine reports much. I'm trying to figure out a way to offload the entire process of moderation to the readers.

There is no real ID system for the report buttons. You get an "ID" but it's just a random number. It's not really stored anywhere except as a cookie on your computer, and a "score" in the server. As the reportings are consumed, they're deleted, so there's no long-term record of posts a particular user has reported.

I like the OpenID concept because someone could apply the ID to posts selectively. I also like it because it keeps most of the posts anonymous, so anonymity is the default.

In the community-moderation model, I think that any "hide" operation would have to be tracked non-anonymously. If someone hides someone else, they'd have to use an ID, and the report would be tracked, and visible to everyone.

Here's a possible layout. new layout concept.

Spamming

by johnk Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 at 11:45 AM

If there's a huge spate of spamming the same thing over and over, that'll usually prompt me or one of the other people to block. basically, you kind of figure "I've hidden 20 of these, maybe this'll take care of the next 20". It's some work to dig up the information and copy it around, so it doesn't get done much and you kind of hope the spammer gets tired.

in contrast, the whole report buttons infrastructure makes it relatively easy to get things hidden one-by-one. you skim, maybe read the original thread, click, and wait a few seconds. it's like an assembly line out of 1984. (Kind of depressing in some ways, too.)

here's how it's done

by Sheepdog Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 at 4:29 PM

How to hide posts.
1st
Post obvious splotchers like the wnn or the advertisements.
2nd
Hit the hate/insult or advertisement report button
3rd
Accumulate credit points
4th
Use the 'credit' account thusly acquired and hide the posts that reveal uncomfortable information.
Easy.

How do you make this a non usable tactic?
Human intervention and editorial judgment is essential.
Don't take the easy way out 'cause the AGENCY can call in as much human resources necessary to exploit it.
Beware.

Read his quote:

SJ's censorship rant:

Utah-IMC's editors have abandoned their posts. Anarchy reigns now.
by TheTroll = neo-Nazi insect Friday October 06, 2006 at 05:04 PM
Naziboy, your rants are ignored and you're laughed at here.

Let's jog our memories as to who we're dealing with here -- a Holocaust denier who was even banned from the SF-IMC cesspit (run by an antisemite, mind you) and had all his posts there hidden for that reason.

Once we get our hands on the administrative passwords your posts here will be toast and just about anything you say will be promptly deleted. You and your goosestepping kind are the subhuman waste that needs to be sorted out and disposed of, the sooner the better. There's nothing to discuss or debate about the Holocaust with a bi-pedal subhuman turd such as yourself.

I call on any person reading these lines willing to visit violence on arch-racist fucktards like you to set you ablaze and see to your death.

Yeah, good point. Just cuz you all say the same thing 99.9% of the time, that doesn't mean anything. There's also the times one of you says "but it isn't Israel's fault because of A" and then another one chimes in "yeah, and it isn't Israel's fault because of B." That counts for something. re: openID

I could find no dirt on it (so far) other than VeriSign's involvement

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
VeriSign buys Network Solutions for $21 Billion

My God, what's wrong with this industry? First VeriSign gobbled up Thawte to give themselves a virtual monopoly on the SSL certificate market, now they're buying Network Solutions. At least it's one sleazy company buying another, so the total number of sleazy companies is going to be decremented.

Network Solutions -

do I even need to talk about them

;)

re:

so openID is at least cleaner than the 3 you have now which I've thoroughly checked out..

lack of precision???

Well, if a right to exist includes a birthright of murderous theft of your neighbor's homeland, then lets hear it. Here is your chance to shine.

If a right to self determination includes a birthright of murderous theft of your neighbor's homeland, then lets hear it.

If hebrews slaughtering or enslaving the Canaanite locals is something other than a piss poor pretext for Zionist to be murderous thieves of the same land, then lets hear it.

Vacant slander doesn't denigrate my rant in the slightest. It only showcases that you WOULD attack the message IF you COULD. Failing to attack the message while attacking the messanger just shows how vacant of substance your position really is.

Try adding something of actual substance. Wanna try it? Just once???

>How do you make this a non usable tactic?
>Human intervention and editorial judgment is essential.
>Don't take the easy way out 'cause the AGENCY can call in as much human resources necessary to exploit it.
>Beware.

While I agree in theory, the reality is that I have other responsibilities to myself and others that I simply cannot fix these flamewars.

By accepting these "hides", and raising the reporters' scores, I'm mechanically assigning editorial powers to the populace, to suffer the consequences of their own decisions (and impulses). I'm hoping to find a little time to automate the process more, and make it more transparent, so it's less work for the editors.

Okay, I see that I was correct in the estimation that your collective is understaffed. Fine. Let me offer a few suggestions.
In view of the resources that will be employed to change this information tool into a warped model of what it should be, the main problem is how do you ( and I do mean you, johnk) institute a self correcting system?
1. Transparency is a vital facet and as I have suggested many times, the *reason* for hiding a comment or thread needs to be displayed.
2. The ability to *unhide* by democratic input, scotched posts, is also necessary.
3. Further, the BW required to hold the garbage must be enormous and maybe a delete mode for spam, advertisements, hate/insult and other obvious garbage should be considered. These chunks of waste does not require archiving, in my opinion. Think of it as a cost saving feature.
A popular input from many different IPs to hide these splotchers would go a long way to this end.
4. To prevent 'loading' credit for obvious hate insult posts that, I suspect are being posted just for this effect, they should be hidden but, if a certain level ( number of posters/reporters ) of rejection is provoked, this should not provide either a plus or minus credit for the reporters. as it would then defeat the loading tactic from our AGENCY friends.

I'm sad that this enterprise is so taxing to your personal life, johnk and I understand even if I don't agree. These are deadly times, my friend. I have sacrificed a great deal of my time with this project also and bought you folks a brew on me for appreciation for the energy, you have devoted to this end. I think it's worth the unpaid time in the cause of justice.
:>)
Or, you could just let me be the 'decider'. Since I'm the only sane dog you'll ever know because I know I'm crazy but never wrong.

I can't use this forum if this kind of game is going on. Is this to keep people from commenting? What was wrong with my post? I can't figure it out. Is this Los Angeles IMC policy or what? yes it's off topic

And to conflate the irritating issue of Mossad activity with chemtrails is another tired method of changing the subject.
The reader can do their own digging.

furthermore, Mr. Whizz...

Somewhere, Ca.

You see, Mr. Whizzard, 'you' have a problem.
I have a nearly total recall. I have no problem remembering anything I've ever read or written. You, on the other hand, have to go through miles of my posts to come up with nada. And BTW, your suppositions are not really anything to hang a towel on.
I think I know what you are here for and it amuses me to throw sand into your 'scientific' ( Mr. Tom Terrific ) analysis when I know for a fact that you are using pure BS Degree rational to derail serious questions into such areas of sinister cover up as DU pollution or the application of chemtrails which exist over more than just my city.
Anyone who engages in a search engine query will see that you are full of...BS degree.
I wont let you claim technical omnipotence even if that is your intent.

Chemtrails and what?

by Sheepdog Friday, Sep. 23, 2005 at 8:06 PM

Sweetcheeks, they should let you outside by wheeling your support unit into the open air. Maybe you require extra assistance. Bastards were spraying my skys today with the typical growing side dispersion from the main trail ( big X and paralell patterns) and oily looking sunset. But I can walk around in the open.

-*electronic, psychotronic and information weaponry

* high altitude ultra low frequency weapons

* plasma, electromagnetic, sonic and ultrasonic weapons

* laser weapons

* strategic, theater, tactical or extraterrestrial weapons

* chemical biological, environmental climate or tectonic weapons

* chemtrails (this item was stricken from a later version, suggesting duress.)-
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
The question I have is, why doesn't Dennis Kucinich tell us about this series of technologies?
I'm certain there are quite a few of our fellow citizens who are asking this question.
When ever possible, I point this phenomena out to any and all as a simple question. What the hell is that stuff coming out of the contrails? Then I remark that they never used to get bigger....
Grains of sand, one by one, when it's not possible to put a boulder into the machine. It's going to be a long struggle to halt it but the sand is at this moment, scoring the delicate workings of an out of control mechanism. They've lost their credibility and only fear is holding the infernal contraption from disassembling.
How long before they err so grievously in their clueless arrogance that they trip over their very tiny pee pees: is only up for speculation.

the documented incidence of biological warfare testing on the U. S. public
-US Code Title 50, Section 1520,
which gives the Secretary of Defense authority to order testing
“involving the use of a chemical agent or biological agent on a
civilian population” for research purposes.
-samples from these chemtrails were analyzed
by a facility in Victoria, British Columbia, which is licensed by the U. S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and found to contain in addition to JP-8 jet fuel (possibly the carrier medium which contains the additive
ethylene dibromide, banned as a pesticide due to causing severe
respiratory reactions even at low levels) numerous pathogens, disease
causing agents. These included Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, which not
only causes respiratory infection but also attacks the immunization
system; Serratia Marcescens, an antibiotic-resistant bacteria which
causes pneumonia, endocarditis and meningitis; as well as Streptomyces
and molds capable of inducing heart disease, upper respiratory and
gastrointestinal ailments.

another weasel speaks

by Sheepdog Monday, Oct. 20, 2003 at 1:39 PM

so I guess it wants more. Okay.

- Here are the reasons that I believe first, that there are many historical precedents for the concept of "chemtrails". Numerous "experiments" have been carried out on an unsuspecting and government-trusting public and on military men. The globalists who basically run and own the military, have no compunctions about spraying chemicals, radiologicals and biologicals on civilian populations just to see what happens or for even more sinister purposes such as control over a weakened population, for eugenics or for genocide. So this is the first point, to accept that indeed these types of random "tests" using all kinds of toxins have been perpetrated upon people who usually had no idea it was going on until many years later when they were dying of various diseases. From this, it is not a great leap to imagine that indeed such programs as "chemtrailing" could be carried out today on a grander scale again without any public admissions under the cover of "National Security" and "need to know".-

Pentagon To Reveal Biowarfare Tests

CBS News has learned that the names of servicemen who were sprayed with chemicals decades ago in U.S. military germ warfare tests will be turned over to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

CBS News Correspondent Vince Gonzales reports that during the 1960s, the Pentagon conducted more than 100 secret biological warfare tests at sea.

As CBS News first reported back in May, in two of those tests, code-named "Autumn Gold" and "Copper Head," more than a thousand U.S. sailors were sprayed with materials once thought to be harmless.

Many of those sailorssome of whom claim they were subjected to the test without their consent and were never told what it involvedfeel their health has been damaged.

In addition to the names of those tested, the Pentagon also will provide a list of all the tests and the biological and chemical agents used.

But according to a letter from the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA) to the Pentagon, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, the VA requested a lot more, including classified medical records. The two departments are currently negotiating over what will be released.

and some more despite attempting scubbing of related websites.

Dr. Cole testified to the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs May 6, 1994, that, as part of chemical and biological weapons research since 1949, the U.S. military has been spraying the American public with a variety of substances. “Evidence suggested that the tests may have been causing illness to exposed citizens. Nevertheless, as army spokesmen subsequently testified, the health of the millions of people exposed was never monitored because the army assumed that the bacteria and chemicals [being sprayed] were harmless,” Dr. Cole, author of “Clouds of Secrecy,” told Congress.

Though the army “assumed” the substances, called “simulants” were “harmless,” the spraying of several substances have been discontinued amid concerns that they may be “causing disease and death.”

Among the “simulants” Dr. Cole claims the army has discontinued spraying on the pubic are the fungus aspergillus fumigatus (the contagion that causes the sometimes deadly disease aspergillus); zinc cadmium sulfide (a known carcinogen); the bacterium serattia marcescens (a bacteria that can cause infections that may lead to death); and dimethyl methylphosphonate (another known toxin and carcinogen).

In the chemtrail clouds over Roseville, Willard's SE-5 detected measurable levels of a variety of pathogens that have been associated with the manifestation of physiological complications such as cancer (medulliary, melanotic, scirrhous, thymus, carcinoma), mucosal infections, upper respiratory complaints, rheumatic fever, strep throat, staph infection, tuberculosis, hepatitis C, candida and cirrhotic and fungal liver disease. There have been epidemic numbers of these types of sicknesses reported throughout the nation in recent years. Those most affected are the elderly and small children.

Lab Analysis Of Chemtrails: Virulent Bio-Toxin Soup

Those kind, peaceful, humanitarian Nazis in our beloved federal
government have now been proved to be engaged in dosing most of North America (and who knows where else--probably everywhere) with substances sprayed from military jets; substances which laboratory analysis now confirms contain a horrendous, virulent and HIGHLY infectious/contagious brew of a wide variety of diseases.
The frighteningly long list of such includes some very severe bacterial agents; toxic bacilli; mold and fungus spores, enzymes used in recombinant DNA experimentation and Ethylene Dibromide--more commonly known as jet fuel.-

Aircraft that generate ChemTrails are apparently not constrained to operate within FAA designated air corridors either; nor are they required to adhere to established commercial flight rules and FAA regulations. Consequently, ChemTrail patterns will be observed lying both within and well outside of the normal air corridors used by the commercial airlines. Unlike normal contrails, these lattice formations can and do appear at any location in the local sky, develop in any geographic direction or vector, intersect and intercept one another as a matter of practice, and produce elaborate and extensive cross-hatch or geometric patterns, which are often seen extending from horizon to horizon. Any commercial airliner that attempted to engage in these kinds of flight maneuvers would be guilty of violating just about every known international flight regulation of commercial aviation. The ChemTrail patterns laid-down by these regulation-exempt aircraft, generally appear as either long parallel billowing furrows in the sky, as some variant of an intersecting tic-tac-toe configuration or a simple figure X.It is believed that these clearly discernible geometric patterns are used as a means of identifying specific local ChemTrail formations, and facilitate the tracking of their position, movement, and drift using satellite telemetry. This information would be vital if it were necessary to determine critical operational values for the various mission parameters needed to accurately position these lattice-type networks, so as to target selected geographic locations and populations with their fallout.

so "jeepers" isn't it odd that no chemtrail hits came up when you looked but *they did for me*

you'd make a fine editor :)

we start getting spammed with such garbage in no time and - as editor - you'd see to it that those posts stayed but *my rebuttals didn't*
