Olympic and Broadway, LA (March to the downtown Federal Building)
* Or meet at the A.N.S.W.E.R. Office (1800 Argyle Ave, #410) at 9:30 am to carpool
Immigrant rights and progressive organizations, including the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition, are calling a march to demand justice for Guillermo Martinez on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 10:00 am. Martinez was murdered - shot in the back - by a U.S. Border Patrol agent at the U.S.-Mexico border in Tijuana two weeks ago. This crime has provoked justified outrage among progressives in both the U.S. and Mexico.
U.S. government neoliberal economic policies targeting Central America, like NAFTA and CAFTA, have pushed millions of people into abject poverty. Those like Martinez are forced to come to the U.S. to look for work. Nobody should be criminalized or murdered for attempting to survive. The racist U.S. Border Patrol and their right-wing allies in the "Minuteman Project" must be held accountable. Join us to demand justice for Guillermo Martinez!
Sponsored by: The Minutemen Watch Network, Frente Unido de los Pueblos Americanos (FUPA), A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition and Day Laborers of San Gabriel.

That's just part of the job. We rarely see justice for Latino youths who are arbitrarily shot by police. When a Latino youth is shot, it is perceived as "oh, well he probably was doing something wrong." When a cop is shot in the line of duty, which is a risk that they take every day as a part of their job in protecting citizens from criminals, its a "tragedy" and is all over the 5 o'clock and 11 o'clock news. Gee, I guess every U.S. soldier who is killed in Iraq is a tragedy too since the president's lies are what brought them there. Some people are just more sly than law enforcement and unfortunately pay the price for the sins of their fellow officers. If you want to find David March's killer, go to the Mexican consulate and see what they can do for you.
Obviously, there are some sensitive pigs out there who unleashed their racism. But they need to be reminded from a racial perspective that Native Americans and Mexicans were here first.
The book, 1421: The Year China discovered the World, made the controversial claim that a Chinese admiral and eunuch, Zheng He, sailed around the world and discovered America on the way.
google your hearts out peons....
The arguement of events of ownership, or national status yesterday, are of no concern today.
California is and will remain a state of the United States. simply really, California generates to much capital for the United States to let Mexico ever reconquer a land that was not there's or even managed properly..
continue with your hate fest.
Three guys get shot at the border. Their names are Hung Chang, Guillermo Martínez Rodríguez , and John Smith.
Which ones will the Mexicans bitch about?
Hung Chang and John Smith (or more likely, Ian O'Connoly) don't walk over the border. They come by plane, or sometimes, by ship, as tourists, and overstay their visas.
