Confronting Christophobic Thugs

by Randy Constan Sunday, Jun. 06, 2004 at 10:54 PM

What a diverse multiracial, multicultural, multivitamin nation our country has become! In a quick two hundred years we’ve gone from "E Pluribus Unum" to "E Pluribus Pluribus." The U.S. loves celebrating its kaleidoscopic collective like no other place on the planet.

And we are totally cool with you doing whatever to whomever you want, and worshipping whomever or whatever you choose. It’s all right with us if you believe in nothing at all, or all of nothing.

Our centeredness, our focus, our New Millennial State of Zen has come about by 40 years of chanting postmodernism’s mantra of tolerance, tolerance and more tolerance. We show R-E-S-P-E-C-T for whatever you want to do, and whatever you want to believe.

Tolerance is the prized virtue of our vernacular.

If you’re a Rick James super freak, well, that’s okay. If your beliefs run to the bizarre or the banal, or if what you want to smoke the same philosophical crack that Caligula, Nero, Alistair Crowley or Vladimir Lenin freebased, we’ll accommodate you. Because, you see, WE ARE OPEN!

Our nation is totally open to anyone and to anything, that is, unless, of course, you’re a Christian. And if that’s the case, then you’re likely to get more sympathy from a badger with minimal sleep than you will from the liberal left who are hard at work making your life hard.

The liberal, hypocritical, tolerant thought police of the 21st century are about as easy going with Christianity as Ike Turner was with Tina every time she went flat while belting out a high note singing “Proud Mary.”

The Xtreme sport of the Xtreme left is Christian-suppression, and man, are they getting good at it. Check it out:

· Liberal, hypocritical, social de-constructors have effectively removed Christianity from our public schools and universities. They have completely deleted the truth concerning the massive role the Christian faith played in our Founding Fathers’ formulating this great land. And God help you if you, Christian teacher or student, attempt to re-introduce it.

· Liberal, hypocritical Hollywood-en heads routinely show Christians in television and film as cross-eyed morons who are repressed and offensive, buckle-shoed, GED killjoys sporting a 70-plus-pound Bible with a minus-70 IQ.

· Liberal, hypocritical activist judges, tanked up on triple espresso no-foam lattes and Al Franken-stein’s latest blog, zealously misinterpret and misapply the Constitution to rid from American government and public life, any semblance of Christian thought. They do this with masturbatory preening glee, congratulating themselves for being Titans of religious freedom … protectors of their envisioned nuevo nation.

Hey, ludicrous Left: what’s up with your Christophobia? Why so intolerant, Ms. Tolerance? What are you afraid of?

Are you afraid we’re going to bring dignity back to this country? Are you afraid righteousness is once again going to be re-introduced into our land, before you licentiously sink it?

Are you afraid of absolute truth being tabled into the public arena and ruining your randy relativism? Are you afraid of personal accountability and responsibility? Are you afraid that the moral law is going to wreck your amoral life?

Is that it? Is that why you’re working overtime to shut Christianity out of the public arena? Will Christianity ruin your narcissistic fantasy starring you as the center of the universe …

or, for you, would that be multiverse?

Listen, concerned Christian—even though the times are going to get tougher than Joan Rivers’ elbows before they get any better in the United States of Liberal Acrimony, we must not acquiesce. It’s time, ecclesiastically and politically, to fight the tolerance movement’s intolerance of our faith, which was the faith of our Founding Fathers and the faith that has sustained our nation’s state of blessedness.

As Christians, we must preserve our rights and freedoms and not allow the Left to shove their Liberal doo-doo down our collective throat. This means we are going to have to get off our collective butts and intellectually fight—NOW!—against the intolerance of Christianity by the “tolerant” liberal and hypocritical Left.

On conservative Christian self delusion

by amused Monday, Jun. 07, 2004 at 12:15 AM

When conservative Christians in the United States in 2004 pretend that their religion is denigrated by society and that they are persecuted for their beliefs, you really have to wonder whether they will soon turn away from the Republican party. Their party controls the Congress, the Senate and the White House, and seven of the nine sitting Supreme Court Justices were appointed by Republicans. Yet if you were to believe the conservative right's rhetoric, you'd think they were a persecuted and marginalized minority. How long will it be before conservative Christians realize that the Republican party obviously does not serve their interests, even though they, to a great extent, control it? Will they ever realize they were sold out by the state and backstabbed by the Republican leadership? Or will they continue to allow themselves to be exploited by more powerful monied interests?

Certainly they will not realize it as long as they project their own inadequacies, and the shortcomings of their own political strategy upon liberals and the left. The fact that Christainity isn't widely popular in public society, and is even openly mocked, doesn't really differentiate it from any other religious group, social demographic, or political faction. But Christians expect to be treated differently because they think they are in possession of the Truth, the final political solution, and they desire to impose their vision of that solution upon the rest of society.

The funny thing is that conservative CHristians, while preaching universal moral truth, practice a narrow brand of identity politics. If they were true universalists, they would realize that there is no person who is truly safe or secure so long as there exist predatory states and criminally powerful political parties. And all states are predatory.

If conservative Christians feel embattled, it is not because they are the victims of a global or national conspiracy. It is because their political project has failed. Even when parts of it succeed, they fail. For example, the prohibition of stem-cell research by the Bush administration was hailed as a victory by the conservative right; but it has set science back years, and put US researchers at a competitive global disadvantage, and will no doubt saoon be repealed. Or take the "partial birth" abortion ban, another victory, that has been overturned. Their project is doomed to failure because, for the most part, it leads to the restriction of freedoms and liberties in favor of a prudish moral authoritarianism. Resentment at their own inadequacy, impotence and incompetence, forms the basis for their temper tantrums against the liberal left.

by more rational Monday, Jun. 07, 2004 at 10:35 AM

Randy Constan's a middle aged acid casualty. I feel sorry for the guy.

He's feeling socially inadequate, and projecting his anger at the Left. (Kind of like how DeVoy projects it at the Right.) Hey Randy, if you feel persecuted, it's because you're attracting assholes to beat up on you. (Assholes like me!)

Conservative Christians aren't hated in America. They're elected President. Try getting elected to a high political office as a gay, nonwhite, pagan. It just isn't going to happen.

Anyone who even attempts to say that conservative Christians lack power has no credibility. White, conservative Christian Republicans are the most powerful people on the whole planet. THE MOST POWERFUL. They're feeling persecuted because they do not wield total social power over absolutely everything in existence.

Christophobia lives! In those replies! We see it as proof! Come out of the closet Christophobes. Just because Christians may be a majority doesn't make Christophobia right! You leftist loonies!
