Enough Rope

by mymicz Tuesday, Apr. 01, 2003 at 1:31 PM

How much more leeway regarding international law does Bush really have?

Since this war began, the only thought I have had is how far will Bush really go? He has already gone so far as to kill upwards of 500 civilians, bomb grain silos, water treatment plants, news stations. The question is, this all being in direct violation of international law, is whether or not someone has started making the case and presenting it.
So how much is enough rope? We have given this administration a line far enough to commit some of the gravest infractions. Now it's time for us to watch them hang themselves. In a way, for a peace activist, this couldn't have been a better situation. It's time to reteach our youth the history of Nuremberg, and the grand accomplishment of an international criminal court. While U.S. soldiers are out of state, they are more than vulnerable to the laws of this court.
But it's really not the soldiers we want. They are really just taking orders, with their batallions so fragmented and kept out of touch with reality that they probably don't know the grave error they are commiting. So now, we wait, for Bush to leave the country. Once he does, we have to have him arrested under international law, and try him for putting the world and our boys at risk. The clear conflicts of interest-demonstrated by Pearl's resignation a few days ago, are like honey to a bear.
Do you think that Bush's case will hold up in front of a jury of internationals? Highly unlikely. And what's more, once this case is brought, in it's entirety, to the American people, Bush will lose. And so will the religious right.
My one experience this weekend with the radical left has left me a bit purtubed though. I cannot condone the idea of another Russia here on our soil under the guise of socialism. I believe in Capitalism, but with social healthcare and restraints on Corporate greed and power. Those restraints have to be enforced under the death penalty for those who rob upwards of let's say 3 million and revise that later for liberals. Life in prison is an option, especially for corporations that support the Prison Industrial Complex.
Still, I didn't enjoy being harrangued by Marxists this weekend, as if I'm not intelligent enough to have actually read Marx and be insulted by Jingoistic words like burgious(I can't spell it O.k. but it don't mean I'm stupid). We need a new leadership, or none at all (for you anarchists!!). Peace and Freedom sounds like a great idea.
Above all, we need to stop segregating ourselves on the basis of race or class, and finally galvanize the movement to hang Bush on the rope we gave him (metaphorically speaking that is).
We are rich, poor, colored, white, sick, healthy, healthworkers, mothers, we are everyone. This is an Important time to try to find a way for us to come together behind something other than tired old Marx. Ideas can be borrowed from this arena of course, for some were indeed beautiful, but religion has to play a part, at least in the sense of spirituality, and Capitalism must play it's part too, it can be very profitable(as in the case of employee owned Whole Foods and the companies that sell to them) to be on the side that is for the people. People want money, and a nice life, we need to show that those things are not mutually exclusive from a passionate and activist lifestyle. In fact, those who make money help drive the movement when they agree with us.
I honor the Dems for coming out in force at the rallies, and the commies too. But we must be able to find middle ground in order to build a base from which to launch a political attack. We certainly have enough rope.
The question is, how do we hire a hangman we can trust? Discuss........

WINNER!

by fresca Tuesday, Apr. 01, 2003 at 4:57 PM

Beyond the fact that the above post is mindless drivel from some dolt who knows absolutely nothing about anything,(I don't beleive for a second this ass has read Stephen King, much less Marx) it is THE QUINTESSENTIAL example of how, at the end of the day, the proSadam/anti Bush "peace" crowd would give anything to have MASSIVE civilian casualties in IRAQ, because it would weaken Bush's position. The "anti-war" crowd is soooo transparent in their bloddlust. You all fall over one another posting pictures of vintage shots of injured arab babies of dubious lineage. You love it when our soldiers get blown up by subhuman suicide bombers. Whatever is bad for Bush, you're for. Peace activists are monsters. They willingly trade the lives of innocents so they can "feel" good about not having to face the action required to free these people.
Make no mistake, humanity and liberalism cannot ride in the same car. Liberalism is purely a selfish narcissistic philosophy. Luckily, the country knows it and the days of selfish liberalism are ending. Don't believe it? Check recent election results. Check the growing and overwhelming support for Bush AND the war. Keep talking but no one is listening short of people like me who get a kick out of watching you drown.
Farewell my little monsters.

Way to go, fresca. Whenever we conservative trolls don't have anything intelligent to say, we can always resort to juvenile name-calling and character assasination. Great job!

Hey, Fresca:

by Bet Me Tuesday, Apr. 01, 2003 at 5:03 PM

Let's see:

The Pro-War Monger rally, advertised and permitted, drew a max of 60 people on Saturday.

The Peace Demonstration on Sunday, also advertised and permitted drew thousands upon thousands.

Ever stop and think that maybe, just maybe, the main line newspapers are not telling the whole story?

What, you right wingers too lame to get off your butts and stand up for what you think. I guess it is just enough to have the Oil Puppet in the White House. No, I got it!!! Sunday is the day you give the servants off and you didn't have anyone to watch your kids or fill your gas-hog SUV's.

Fresca, you are a joke. A very lame and dangerous one. Cuz you think you know so damn much and you are truly a fool. Get off your butt and enlist if you support Fuher Bushie so much, k?

What?

by fresca Tuesday, Apr. 01, 2003 at 5:06 PM

Me enlist? I, like most other conservatives, am a chickenhawk. I wouldn't be caught dead enlisting.

Peace activists

by David Tuesday, Apr. 01, 2003 at 5:12 PM

Yeah, all the peace activists I know are monsters. But then again, all the Moslems I know are homicidal, suicide bombing fanatics.

You do not want to know what I think of counsellors! By the way, it is hard to know a suicide bomber until there is no one left to know.

Could you be any less insightful

by fresca Tuesday, Apr. 01, 2003 at 5:23 PM

Bet me, it's a given that you're an idiot. Ok, that's agreed upon. But are you really so crippled that you actually believe what you post? You can't be serious. No one as stupid as that could operate a computer. So, I'll play along woth your joke for the sake of those who ARE unable to understand the error of your ways.
The "anti-war" demonstrations represent almost ALL of the anti war sentiment in the country. Not entirely but surely close to it. That's why attendence at your anti-Bush get togethers peaked about a month ago and has slowly declined. No getting around that. You may answer in the negative, but a facts a fact; you're ranks have, at best, plateaued. You and your ilk NEED to get together and pat each other on the back, bang drums and generally get all worked up emotionally in order to make any sense of what you're doing. There's no intellectual component to your meanderings. Simply read any of your clever childlike signs. No insight.
Believe me, there's plenty to intellectually challenge the administration on, but it won't come from you folks. You're too busy screaming and crying and painting your faces and generally emoting to even have time to think.
The "pro-war mongers" as you so predictably put it are simply a fanatic fringe of an OVERWHELMING majority of the public that supports the war because it's the right thing to do, not because we like it. Most people look at both groups of protesters and laugh. Unfortunately, you all have made much bigger asses out of yourselves.
Answer me this (I'll hold my breath): Do you honestly believe that any of the protest have swayed ANY public opinion to your sides. I mean, c'mon, your most credible voice is ANSWER, and admittedly STALINIST organization and a bunch of ACTORS. You come to the table with nothing but your tears.
The numbers are correct. You all have failed. Again. Nice try, but you'll always fail because you don't think. You mimic and fly into histrionics. You speak in buzzphrases and you engage in total groupthink.
So there you go. I know that, by definition, you won't agree with this publicly, but hit'll hit you.
Have a nice day.
And by the way, thank God for fresca. Very hot today.

That's the best you can do? I guess I made my point. Thanks for the proof.

The only point you've made is that you're in serious need of psychological counseling, as you sound as though you have serious issues. I'm just trying to help you.

Gee, Caducado...if the protests convince no one, why do fuckheads like you waste so much bad breath on it?

Nevermind...you go over there...take your stupid shit and play OVER THERE...go away....go to your little "spontaneously massive" 30 person yellow ribbon rallies....

saw one yesterday...in front of the Ritz Carlton, fer crissakes....pathetic....

...by the way, it seems your boys plannin' your slaughter were probably pretty bad at playin' Risk in high school....they are certainly fuckin' this deal up pretty badly, (can you spell "SUPPLY LINES"?) but hey, they got little shits like you to do the 'splainin' and hand out the appa-logies...so get busy bootlicker.....

fresca, I have to appolygize for being such a rude bastard, and using so many bad words. My dad, the general, would be sure to disapprove. But being his son is, after all, how I learned all about military terminolgy like SUPPLY LINES.
So, have a nice day, sweetie, and I'll meet you for brunch at the Ritz Carlton, on Sunday, shall we say elevenish? TTFN!
