Al Jazeera. Now there's a credible source. References such as this further demonstrate how exclusive a clique you protesters have become. I saw today's protests; even progressive-packed networks like CNN and MSNBC are too conservative for you. Weapons of mass distraction, you say. For example...I just heard the word "stalled" on CNN...thirty seconds ago. That word could mean anything. However they have a tendancy to accept highly biased sources as fact. For example there are many examples of minor adjustments to scenes of israeli bombings to make local fighters look like innocent civilians. It is as easy as taking the guns away or telling the neigbours what story is appropriate.
Sheepdog - If we were to prevent the sale of weapons we would be applying sanctions on the country. The sanctions on Iraq were designed to stop it from getting Weapons and yet they seem to have cripled the whole country. Why do people think that less military presence in the U.S. will make things better? The fact of the matter is other countries hate us because of the freedoms we have and militery forces in our country gave us these freedoms and they make sure we keep these freedoms. Yes, war is bad and yes Bush is a dick, but if you don't know where Iraq is on a map you should probably educate yourself a little before you go to a protest. As a citizen of Canada, I am a non-American who most certainly does not "hate you for [your] freedoms".

But neither do I consider all of the United States' much-vaunted liberties to be particularly deserving of the chest-thumping and trumpeting which they seem so condusive to of late.

Those of you who are not frequently given to introspection or self-critique might do well to perform a quick check-up sometime soon - even the "best country" in the world (i politely demur) needs a bit of spit and polish now and then. Just look at which groups are dancing in the street after U.S. forces arrive, i.e. Basara, and which ones will probably take up arms, i.e. Baghdad. The Iraqis in northern and southern Iraq don't support Saddam because THEY are the ones who have been starved and/or gassed. Some of the citizens of Baghdad probably will take up arms because they are the ones that Saddam has catered to so that he can drag them into urban warfare as a last line of defense. I'd be interested to see how many citizens of Baghdad have been allowed to see the conditions of their fellow Iraqis in the northern and southern part of the country. Is it your assertion that, just because these acts have been carried out only against SOME Iraqis that it's ok?

To all people on all sides of this issue: If you really want to find the solution, identify the truth and present it in such a way as to educate those who don't share your view and perhaps bring them to your side, then your desire to find the solution, identify the truth, etc. must be greater than your desire to show them what a stupid #@$^@ they are and rub it in their face.

Those posting on this board are polarized to one side or the other. The left will not believe the right and will quote web sites that have their agenda which not truth. The right sees the left as commies with only one agenda, which is to destroy America. The only real dialogue can be between those that have an opinion and those that have not formed an opinion.

Anti-war and Pro Support the Troops will not agree on anything until the fighting has stopped.

First of all, real or fake, using a picture like this is far more horrendous than ANY PsyOps carried out by the U.S.

Second, going on the assumption that this is a real picture, what proof do you have as to how it actually occured? Commentary from the Al Jazeera propaganda machine? Statements from the Iraqi regime, which is known to deliberately put children like this inside military targets, hoping for horrific results like this?

Weep for the death of any child, for it is tragic. But do not let a regime, such as in place in Iraq, intentionaly cause the deaths of children as part of an effort to twist reality into demonizing the West.

It is a somewhat subtle operation to convince you that even if there are horrific pictures of the grim toll of this EVIL war you should disregard it because it is just Propaganda against this Just and Noble Campaign of Wholesale Slaughter.
