I can think of few things more boring and distressing than predominantly white people in suits making deals that will have ramifications for citizens. So I was bored and distressed at BIO2001 today. I was again captivated, though, by the fact that such a large part of the BIO conference consists of white Western governments are fighting with each other to have the priviledge of handing over their tax-payers' money to ensure that bio corporations will do business in their locale (and donate to their re-election campaigns perhaps.) So the most interesting photos I could find to take today were of government booths. Admittedly they lack aesthetic excitement, but I hope they are telling nonetheless.
It just occured to me that governments don't even bother anymore to repeat their rhetoric that tax breaks and other such incentives for corporations are good for all citizens. I guess that since the mainstream media is corporate dominated, they handle all such propaganda...
