I can think of few things more boring and distressing than predominantly white people in suits making deals that will have ramifications for citizens. So I was bored and distressed at BIO2001 today. I was again captivated, though, by the fact that such a large part of the BIO conference consists of white Western governments are fighting with each other to have the priviledge of handing over their tax-payers' money to ensure that bio corporations will do business in their locale (and donate to their re-election campaigns perhaps.) So the most interesting photos I could find to take today were of government booths. Admittedly they lack aesthetic excitement, but I hope they are telling nonetheless.
