Here is an interesting note for all of those people allergic to penicillin and the whole -cillin family of antibiotics. Do you get headaches frequently or more freuently than when you were a kid? Do you find yourself reacting to more and more as the years go by? Have you suddenly developed allergies? Could be a number of things totally unrelated to the war over our food, or it could be a direct result. I for example am one of those people allergic to all -cillin based antibiotics. I have suddenly started developing all kinds of allergies to foods, plants, and animals that I never had problems with before. Now everyone knows that mothers should not consume certain things during pregnancy or breast feeding because it will be passed along to the child. Dairy cows are pumped full of antibiotics that are passed along in their milk. rGBH alone caused so many infections in cows that the acceptable antibiotic level found in the finished product of milk was raised 1,000 times just to make the milk marketable. This is not safe, but it's good for business. Chickens are also pumped full of penicillin. This is passed along through the eggs and meat. For those of us that are allergic to the antibiotic, it will simulate a food allergy. If you have been experiencing such things, keep an eye out. Most of this was only brought to my attention after I experienced a reaction that was a bit more mild.

Another note for those going to Biodev...if you are allergic to meds, make sure there is some way for an EMT or doctor to know this either by a drugstore alert bracelet or some other clear means.

I agree there is way too much use of antibiotics in food. But remember if you need medical help at Biodev and new medicines, as you state, where are they coming from? Who provides alternatives to new medicine. Protest food additives and food manipulation but realize that much of biotech is providing new therapies and drugs for improving the health of society. Actually Nosher...What I said was to make sure it was obvious to any potential caregiver that certain pharms will kill you. Medical attention there will be given however it needs to be. I personally grow a lot of my own plants and herbs to use as medicine rather than running to the drugstore. Where is there more information about genetically modified insulin dangers?

As a diabetic, I have been concerned about this for a long time and suspected it was killing people. Although I control my diabetes extremely well, I am still getting sicker and sicker, to the point where I have had to go on permanent disability, and I'm not even 30 yet. My decline came when I was switched to genetically modified insulin. In addition, I have developed many more autoimmune disorders besides diabetes, including antibiotic and petrochemical allergies, and allergies to most pharmaceutical drugs.

Can someone please point me to a web site or someplace else where I can get more information about the dangers of genetically modified insulin?

I also wanted to comment on AIDS drugs. They are so toxic and deadly that almost all of them have "black box warnings," which is the most severe warning label pharmaceutical drugs can get. One AIDS drug's black box warning says that 1 in 20 people will have a serious deadly allergic reaction to the drug. All of the opportunistic infections that are said to be caused by AIDS are also coincidentally side-effects of AIDS drugs. So if you take AIDS drugs and die from side-effects, the government said you died of AIDS, and the pharmaceutical companies still get to keep these deadly drugs on the market and make a literal killing in profits.
