Mayor Richard J Riordan recently was caught on tape saying, "Let's give flea collars to the homeless." Whether this is just a part of Riordan's sick humor, these statements will not be tolerated. In an interview with Adam Celiac, the Director of the Arm the Homeless campaign
rebutted, " We have been given a very large donation that will allow us to pass out handguns to the homeless during the DNC. The homeless will be ready for Gore and Riordan's tactics.” Joe Halibator, part of the homeless community, told us, "I pay the cops to protect me not to shoot at
me, so yeah, I’ll shoot back." The homeless have not taken any of the collars. The few that have worn them, complained of rashes and have not received adequate medical attention. Besides the passing out flea collars, Riordan proposes that the city will also place litter boxes on street corners for the homeless to utilize during the DNC. Riordan boasted, “We will show tourists just how well he has trained the city’s homeless. “These poor bastards! At least, they will not piss all over my café.” Then he sidetracked advertising his café, The Pantry, that he offers bread and coleslaw at a competitive price. You will not find oppression done Hollywood like we do. We bring the
glitz and glamour of oppression to another level. Let’s see Washington out do our oppression, Riordan proudly states!
This is a joke, and in other circumastances is a good way to fuck with the ridiculous mainstream media. The "Arm the Homeless" stunt was pulled off successful sometime ago, fooling local media to air the situation as a fact.
Of course the whole thing is a hoax and a page on the hoax can even be found on the Internet.
Did Riordan really say those things or what. He's treating humans worse than animals. People like Rioradan need to live on the street, go hungry, get beaten and suffer. Maybe Riordan will just drop dead like Rudy Guliani got ass cancer. Let's hope.

Is this for real?
Did Reirdon really say this, or is this Satire in Action? I probably wouldn't be asking except you mention that some who've worn the collars are complaining of skin irrtation...
I saw on TV last night Dick lose it in front of the cameras when asked if LA could expect the same protesting seen in Philly. When some suggested, quite truthfully, that preferential treatement (as far as police 'protection') would be given to more affluent areas of the city, Dick stood up, pointed a stern finger at the audience and shouted that that was 'A DAMN LIE!' His emotion was evident in his wild-eyed facial expression, and he was quickly led away by his aides who had obviously realized that he'd over-reacted.
Dick seemed somewhat confused by the audience's less-than-amused reaction to his outburst.
Seeing him do things of this calibre are what make me believe he really could've passed out flea collars...
I too watched Riordan lose control at the press conference yesterday, "to think that anyone would accuse me of not having city residents' interests at heart...that is a DAMN DAMN LIE!" He was reacting to the allegation that his office has given no information to residents of the Pico-Union area (surrounding the Staples Center) regarding safety measures that will be employed by the LAPD. These are complaints that have been made by the residents themselves--I am much more inclined to believe them over Dick. This is not the first time he has been accused of keeping not only LA residents, but also the City Council, in the dark. I work downtown, the management office of my building has been very forthcoming with information regarding street closings, LAPD safety measures, and the like. The other day I received a 50-page package of information with a number of maps and letters from both the LAPD and the Mayor's office. I wonder if residents of the Pico-Union area received this same information...in Spanish.
