Make no mistake, this is a major setback for the US. If the UK pulls out,
Howard will be unable to keep Australia in the war. Spain will likely bail as
well, rather than risk a popular uprising. The illusion of a coalition will be
broken. It's just the US invading Iraq, plain and simple.
In short, the peace demonstrations are WORKING. Blair and the MPs looked out
their windows at a million people opposed to the war, and knew fear. This
weekend, there is another chance to show the war-mongers that nobody will show
up for their war. We The People quit. We refuse to be part of it. We refuse to
be lied to. We refuse to be deceived. We refuse to be afraid, least of all of
our own government. We refuse to pay for the bombs. We refuse to surrender our
children. We refuse to kill who we are told, hate who we are told, steal from
whom we are told.
This Saturday, be part of the generation that told the world's governments
that they won't play that war-game any more. That we have, as a society,
outgrown the need to whack each other over the heads over a "clash of
civilizations", kill over whose gods have the bigger geniitals, and pillage
other people to bail out a bankrupt government that spends recklessly, then
resorts to war and conquest to get out of its debts.
The British people told their government, "NO"! The Government
listened. If Americans say ,"NO" loud enough, and often enough, this
government will have to listen, because in a Democracy, which the US purports to
be, the will of the people is the law of the land.
Saturday is the day to make your will known. Be there!
