Palestinians of Hamas Condemn Saudi & U.S. Attempts to Label Hezbollah "Terrorist"

Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen Refuse To Sign On As Well

Saudi Arabia and the United States are the biggest sponsors of Wahhabist jihadist terrorist organizations in the Middle East. Both countries heavily armed and trained the terrorist organizations that became the Taliban, al-Qaeda, Daesh (ISIS), the Islamic Front, and Jabhat al-Nusra. They continue to back some of these groups against the people of Yemen, Syria, and Iran.

Angering Saudi Arabia and the United States, the combined forces of Hezbollah, the Lebanese military, and the Lebanese Communist Party defeated the genocidal and anti-woman Wahhabist forces of ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra in Lebanon this year. Similar victories were achieved in Syria and Iraq with the aid of Lebanese based Hezbollah forces as well.

So on Sunday, an "emergency" meeting of The Arab League was called by Saudi Arabia and held in Cairo to condemn Hezbollah. Of course, Saudi Arabia couldn't give the real reason for their anger, which is Hezbollah's defeat of their their terrorists, so they manufactured one. They claimed, with zero evidence, that a rocket fired from Yemen by Yemen's Houthi government on November 4th was supplied by Hezbollah. The governments of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen refused to attend. In the end, the meeting falsely condemned Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah rightly dismissed the charges as "ridiculous".

In reality, Yemen's Houthi government is manufacturing its own rockets. They are firing these into Saudi Arabia in response to a U.S. and Saudi Arabian genocidal war and starvation blockade that has killed 40,000 Yemenis through bombing. Saudi troops have also invaded the country and are fighting against the revolutionary government in a coalition that includes the troops of the UAE, Sudan, and al-Qaeda. The U.S. and Saudi led economic blockade of air, sea and land ports is also committing the mass murder of hundreds of thousands of people through starvation, disease, and other easily preventable causes. If anyone is guilty of terrorism, it is the United States and Saudi Arabia for their genocidal war against the people of Yemen.

Nobody is better at Orwellian doublespeak than the Israeli Zionists, Saudi Wahhabists, and U.S. imperialists. Alongside Saudi Arabia and the United States, the Israeli Zionists are the biggest aggressors against their neighbors and worst oppressors of their own people, the Palestinians, in the Middle East. Yet, the Zionists in the U.S. corporate media are painted as the victims. It is one of the biggest absurdities among many of U.S. imperialist propaganda. Let me clarify, Zionism is not Judaism. Zionism is a political expression, not a religion. Zionism is to Judaism what Wahhabism is to Sunni Islam, and what Nazism is to Catholicism.

Hamas, the elected ruling party of besieged Palestinian Gaza, also condemned the statement issued at the end of the emergency Arab League meeting for accusing the Hezbollah resistance movement of terrorism. Hamas stressed that the Israeli occupation’s crimes against the Palestinians should be labeled as terrorism instead. The Movement said that it was shocked to see that the joint statement did not refer to the Israeli terror acts committed against the Palestinian people on a daily basis. Hamas instead stressed the need to unite the efforts and capabilities of the Arab and Muslim nations and help the Palestinian people to regain their rights and liberate their land.

Israel is a Jewish homeland built at the expense of the land's original inhabitants, the Palestinians, and that Israeli genocide continues. The Israeli Jewish supremacist state carries out discrimination, theft, economic blockade, and routine mass murder directed at the oppressed Palestinian people. Since the birth of Israel in 1948, millions of Palestinians have been driven from their homes in a massive ethnic cleansing campaign carried out by the Israeli government. Many who have not been murdered or driven form Palestine / Israel completely are now held by the Israeli government in the walled ghetto of Gaza. In this giant open air prison of 1.8 million people, Israel economically blockades the population and periodically carries out massacres of the imprisoned people.

Today, Hamas is the main leadership of the Palestinian people in the struggle against the Jewish supremacist state. The PLO, now the Palestinian Authority, has switched sides and become collaborators with Israel, even participating in joint military operations with Israel against the Palestinian people. The evolution of the PLO from secular nationalist revolutionaries to collaborators with Israel and U.S. imperialism was a natural one. This is because they never adopted a revolutionary socialist program that would seek unity between the Palestinian and Hebrew speaking working class to overthrow the Israeli capitalist state. Instead, they sought outside support from bourgeois nationalists and the USSR to establish a Palestinian state. When that aid dried up with the counterrevolution in the USSR, they then signed on to the imperialist sponsored Oslo agreements which allowed the PLO to become the new rulers of Palestinian South African style Bantustans in Gaza and the West Bank.

The PLO’s agreement to the Oslo two state “solution” was done at the price of making it appear that a solution was achieved for the Palestinian people when in fact nothing was accomplished. The pieces of land turned over to “Palestinian rule” were small and not viable pieces of land for a separate state, they continue to contain ever larger encroachments of Israeli settlers stealing Palestinian lands and water in the West Bank, and they include massive dissections like the atrocity of roads for Jews only. Likewise, Palestinians have no independent control of foreign trade and the agreements didn’t give Palestinians a meaningful fraction of the wealth that has been produced through the exploitation of Palestinian labor and the confiscation of Palestinian land, water, crops, and housing.

As Palestinians continue to be expropriated and sent to walled ghettos, their cheap labor under the Israeli capitalist system has largely been replaced by non-Jewish immigrants. These immigrants from Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe face brutal racism, hatred, exploitation, and repression. Meanwhile, the replacement of the Palestinian working class frees the Israeli ruling capitalist class to turn up the ethnic cleansing a few more notches and move towards a “final solution” to their Palestinian problem. This position is being openly advocated by Israeli politicians like Ayelet Shaked who declared at the beginning of the last murderous assault on Gaza that Palestinian mothers must die saying, “They have to die and their houses should be demolished so that they cannot bear any more terrorists They are all enemy combatants.” Israel’s routine indiscriminate slaughter of thousands men, women, and children in Gaza certainly reflects this attitude. It also makes the military defense of Gaza from Israeli attack a life and death imperative where the heroic resistance of Hamas’s al-Qassam brigades on the ground should be praised.

While communists are not blood thirsty, we understand that the high casualty rate of invading Israeli soldiers slows the advance of genocidal forces and opens more possibilities of resistance to the war from the Israeli people. Within this context, demands by Iran for the Arab regimes to help arm the Palestinian people should be supported. If nothing else, these demands help expose the fact that almost all of the Arab regimes are puppets of U.S. imperialism and cannot even stand up for basic human rights in Gaza.

Saudi Arabia's pressures on Lebanon are part of Crown Prince Salman doubling down on his failing regional wars against the people of Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, Qatar, and his own people. The Lebanese military, combined with Hezbollah and the Communist Party this year defeated U.S. backed Saudi aggression in the form of defeating and taking back all territory from al-Qaeda and ISIS. In forcing Lebanese Prime Minister Hariri's resignation and labeling Hezbollah terrorist, Saudi Arabia hoped to turn Lebanon's military against Hezbollah. This has also failed. Likewise, the unity in Hamas's statement with Hezbollah shows another failure by Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the United States in their attempts at deepening the the Sunni Shia divide.

Crown Prince Salman hoped Hariri's resignation, containing false attacks on Hezbollah and Iran, would divide and weaken Lebanon for Israeli invasion. Hezbollah has twice defeated U.S. backed Israeli invasions. First in the brutal invasion and occupation by Israel from 1978-2000 and then Israel's rapid defeat in 2006 by Hezbollah. Hezbollah and the Lebanese army are even better prepared today as Saudi Arabia attempts to destabilize Lebanon for Israeli invasion.

Without giving political support to the Palestinian Authority, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah. or Hamas, communists support the military defense the West Bank, Gaza, and Lebanon from murderous Israeli attacks and call for an end to the economic blockade of Gaza by Israel and by Egypt. We also oppose the Saudi led travel ban against Lebanon. As opposed to the capitalist sell-outs of the Palestinian Authority who brought the Oslo agreement upon the Palestinian people; and as opposed to the capitalist repressive religious fanatics of Hamas; we call for the separation of Mosque and state, the overthrow of capitalism, and for active work to unify the Hebrew speaking working class with the Palestinian cause and the cause of socialist revolution to overthrow the Israeli government. To do so will take the building of a revolutionary working class party that functions as a tribune of the people, fighting for all of the most oppressed in society, including women and recent non-Jewish immigrants.

In the United States, the Democrat and Republican Parties are united in their support for genocide against the Palestinian people including over three billion dollars in U.S. military aid to Israel every year. The Green Party is also a problem. In the last election they actually ran a candidate that called for economic sanctions against both Israel and the Palestinian people if certain demands weren’t met. As if equal signs could be drawn! And as if U.S. imperialism ever plays anything but a negative role in the world! Such illusions must be combated while at the same time taking real proletarian actions of solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people such as the successful Block the Boat campaign that stopped Israeli Zim Integrated Shipping Services from unloading in the U.S. and eventually halted their operations. . The capitalist Republican, Democrat, and Green parties offer no solutions. Revolutionary workers parties must be built both in the Near East and in the United States to end imperialism, capitalist exploitation, and social chauvinism through proletarian socialist revolution.
