Went to this event, and took a few photos.

Any veteran of LA marches knows the drill - you organize groups to show up, and some regulars show, and if the media pushes it, new people show up. Then the event starts big, and during the march, loses some people. At the end is a rally that's sparsely attended.
The March for Bernie was something new - a march that grew as it walks through the Old Pasadena shopping district. It appeared to be adding marchers from the people who were shopping.
Not only that, but the motorists were honking a lot of support. At some intersections, it seemed like half of them were giving a "thumbs up" or raising a fist, or hollering with us, or cheering.
And the chants were spontaneous and largely unamplified. Aside from the classic "What do we want? When do we want it?", there were two or three that were variations on Dodgers chants that they do at games. That's a way to get a chant going.

La Shane Jones was one of the core group of organizers for this march. She was interviewed in this short piece about Millennial attitudes by Jim McDermott. http://americamagazine.org/content/dispatches/coffee-klatch-millennial-splaining-bernie-sanders

There were some great signs. This is a good idea for making a sign that doubles as protection from the harmful UV rays from our life-giving star.

I'm from the Montebello/Monterey Park/Rosemead area, so I'm always happy to see people from these cities with signs.

I didn't know this - but 14,000 people are volunteering for Bernie in LA. This is amazing. Maybe Clinton was right: it's a place to find people to date. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyDIBVa_Rfw&feature=youtu.be And please, phone bank. https://go.berniesanders.com/page/content/phonebank There are some locations opening up their doors for more phonebanking. I've done some, but will try to go to a location because it's kind of lonely at home, and it would be more fun with a group.
