Individual Democrats can adapt to Republican majority

by Eric Matteson Thursday, Nov. 06, 2014 at 2:51 PM
ericmatteson2001@yahoo.com

Individual democrats can improve their situation by trying to get along with Republicans and can benefit from cooperating with Republicans.

Individual democrats can succeed even with a Republican majority.
In response to the trajic loss Democrats have suffered in 2014 I have come
up with this bipartisan plan to move forward after the 2014 election.
1 ) Pass an all volunteer jury system. Volunteers choose a courthouse and
starting week. volunteers who show up at that courthouse and starting week
are then selected at random for individual trials among several courtrooms
within that courthouse. Getting rid of the jury summons will stabilize
workplaces after skilled workers are no longer drafted away from important
work at bad times to serve on juries.
Volunteers who volunteer for jury duty will pay more attention to the
facts of each case and provide verdicts that are more accurate than
drafted jurors. An all volunteer jury system is all that is needed to
implement tort reform.
2 ) Repeal the healthcare reform law of 2010. For every person who has
gained insurance there are over 10 people who have LOST THEIR DOCTOR!!!!!
Even during the 2013 repeal effort some Democrats joined with Republicans
to vote to repeal the heathcare law. During the earlier repeal effort
before 2014 the number of house DEMOCRATS that voted to repeal the
healthcare law was EVEN LARGER than the number of senate Republicans
who voted to repeal the healthcare law before 2014.
All house DEMOCRATS still have a good reason to vote to repeal
the healthcare reform law of 2010.
a ) The individual mandate is written with a minimum fine of $695.00
so poor people have to PAY a higher percentage of income than rich people
in order to pay either a mandatory premium or fine.
b ) The reimbursement rate for doctors is too low for doctors to stay in
business. If the healthcare reform law is not repealed before the end
of spring 2015 over 200,000 doctors have pledged to QUIT!!!!
c ) You do not get to keep your DOCTOR!!
d ) You do not get to keep your employer provided insurance plan!
e ) Premiums and deductibles are much higher with healthcare reform
than without it.
f ) Many senior citizens who live in states that have a health
insurance exchange established by the state will lose both their
MEDICARE and MEDICAID and be shoved into a HMO that is not as good
as what they had before. Some of those Seniors are planning on asking their
legislators to convert their state to switch to the federal health insurance
exchange so both medicare and origonal medicaid can be reinstated for them.
.
Republican leaders have pledged to avoid the politically unpopular
step of defaulting on the national debt and shutting down the entire
government because OTHER HOSTAGES HAVE BEEN FOUND!!
Student financial aid for Fall 2015 WILL BE DELAYED until the healthcare
reform law of 2010 is COMPLETELY REPEALED!!!!
U.S. military funding including VA funding
will not be increased until the healthcare
reform law of 2010 is repealed.
....
There will be a full repeal vote to repeal the entire healthcare law of
2010. Members of BOTH political parties need to support that vote and get
the healthcare law repealed. Failure to acheive a 2/3 supermajority vote
on the second ballot will trigger cuts to parts of the healthcare law.
....
If there are not enough votes to repeal the entire healthcare law
then there will be a vote to repeal the entire individual mandate.
If that VOTE fails then the individual mandate will be modified to become
more fair to poor people by replacing the fine of $695.00 plus 2.5%
of income with a smaller TAX of just 1% of the AMOUNT OVER $250,000.00
of annual income to reinstate the promise of only increasing taxes on
those earning over $250,000.00 per year. The minimum fine of $695.00
will be abolished.
If that vote fails military funding will not be increased and all remaining
student financial aid will be dalayed until the individual mandate
is made less severe. Make the individual mandate less severe by replacing
the $695.00 + 2.5% fine with a smaller tax of only 1% of the amount over
$250,000.00 annual income so military funding can be increased including
the military funding that is used to pay for treating Veterans at the
VA hospital. Injured veterans are waiting for a healthcare reform law
repeal. Students are also waiting for a healthcare reform law repeal.
....
3 ) Republicans want energy. Energy can come from natural gas or oil or
coal or solar power.
Solar power is the cleanest energy available. the experimental IVANPAH
solar power plant has suceeded in generating as much power as it can with
its very small land area. Both political parties need to agree to cover
the rest of undeveloped desert land in the United States with solar power
collectors so the United States can be fully powered with clean solar
power all day long.
In the daytime clean solar power can be used to desalinate seawater
and pump that water uphill to the reservoir behind the highest dam.
Additional electrical generators will have to be added to each dam
because each reservoir will only have to provide power at night because
it is the solar power plants responsibility to generate ALL DAYTIME power!!
Each Dam will then provide twice as much power at night as before
so less COAL will have to be burned.
Solar power is the only clean energy available. Failure to build the
additional solar power plants in the desert will result in new COAL
power plants being built in every obstructionist congressional district!
Chinese scientists have discovered that COAL IS CHEAPER than natural gas
or oil for generating electricity!! Those politicians who do not like coal
should cooperate fully with solar power exapansion!!
....
4 ) Both political parties might be able to agree that we in the U.S.
should have OUR OWN large areospace planes to get to orbit with instead
of relying on the Russians to get astronauts to the International Space
Station. In the 1960s both political parties supported the Apollo 11 moon
mission and advanced algebra in High School to prepare students for space.
....
5 ) Reform student financial aid. Get rid of student loans entirely.
Require all students to pass a high school level algebra exam like
a high school exit exam before applying for student financial aid.
All students must complete the equivelent of the second year of
algebra in high school before applying for student financial aid.
Do not require students to repay grants. Abolish all student loans.
....
There is a lot that both political parties can agree on so the Republican win
in 2014 does not have to be the end of hope.
