Chris Hedges, Cornel West, and Richard Wolff talk about the importance of Thomas Paine and his most influential works: "Common Sense," "The Rights of Man," and "The Age of Reason." This event was part of Left Forum, a left-wing/progressive conference held annually in New York City.

About the Authors

Chris Hedges is a fellow at The Nation Institute and a columnist for Truthdig. He was part of the New York Times team that won the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting for its coverage of global terrorism. Mr. Hedges is the author of many books, including "War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning" and "American Fascists."

Cornel West is the author of numerous books, including "Race Matters," "Democracy Matters," and the memoir, "Brother West." He is Class of 1943 University Professor at the Center for African American Studies at Princeton University. For more, visit: cornelwest.com.
