Yair Shamir: Profile of Israeli Extremism

He's a former IDF officer. He's now an Israeli politician and businessman. He's former Prime Minister Yitzhak's son. He's named after Avraham "Yair" Stern.

In 1940, he founded the terrorist Lehi group. It's commonly called the Stern Gang. During WW II, it offered to help Nazi Germany and fascist Italy against Britain.

In return, it sought transfer of occupied European Jews to Palestine. It wanted a Jewish state based on "nationalist and totalitarian principles."

Yair's father, Yitzhak, was one of Lehi's leaders. It was more extremist than Irgun. In 1942, after British forces killed Stern, he, Nathan Friedman-Yellin, and Israel Sheib comprised its troika leadership.

In July 1946, Irgun and Lehi were responsible for attacking the King David Hotel. Doing so massacred 92 Brits, Arabs and Jews. Dozens of others were wounded. David Ben-Gurion approved it. Future prime minister Menachem Begin led it. Shamir was directly involved.

In April 1948, Lehi and Irgun committed the Deir Yassin massacre. Men, women, youths, children, the elderly and infirm were indiscriminately slaughtered. Anyone trying to run was shot.

Deir Yassin and many other massacres removed Palestinians for Jews. Israelis call it their "War of Independence." Palestinians commemorate the Nakba. Words can't explain the horror.

Shamir was instrumental in its worst atrocities. He's lauded as an Israeli hero. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Yair reflects his father's extremism.  

He serves in Israel's fascist government. He's a Netanyahu-led Likud-Beitnenu Knesset member. With coalition partners, it's ideologically over the top. It reflects the worst of Israeli lawlessness. Allied with America, it threatens humanity.

Yair serves as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. The New York-based Jewish Post calls him "a new star in the sky of Israeli politics." He won't likely "distance himself from his father's beliefs, ideas, mission or message."

It includes racist extremism. He believes in Jewish exceptionalism. He demeans Muslims as inferior. He believes Arabs are inherently violent. He claims their holy grail is destroying Israel.

He opposes Palestinian self-determination. He says achieving it assures "permanent" regional instability. It would "add fuel to the fire of terrorism." He favors subjugating Palestinians in perpetuity. Perhaps he prefers removing them altogether.

On May 1, he headlined his Washington Post-owned Foreign Policy op-ed "Our Shared Islamist Enemy," saying:

"From Boston to Israel, radicals are attempting to destroy Western culture."

Shamir repeated one of many racist canards. Washington Post management let him do it.

He claims "(m)odern terror connected to an extremist Islamist mindset is simply something that many in the West are unable or unwilling to truly understand….We ignore terrorists' ideology at our own peril."

He believes "terrorism" is what they do, not us. State terror matters most. It's longstanding US/Israeli policy. It seeks unchallenged dominance.

Imperial wars are waged to achieve it. Peace is a four-letter word. One country after another is ravaged. Humanity's at risk but who cares. Big Lies conceal what's happening.

Truth is the most dangerous disinfectant. Suppressing it is policy. Syria was largely peaceful before US proxies invaded. So was Libya last year, Iraq pre-March 2003 (except for US no-fly zone bombings), and Afghanistan before 9/11.

Right or wrong, Boston's called "The Cradle of Liberty." The American Revolution began there. Some say events preceding it transformed resistance into revolt.

Annually, Patriot's Day is commemorated. It's the Lexington and Concord battles anniversary. On April 19, 1775, they occurred. The 1968 Uniform Monday Holiday Act established observing certain ones on Mondays.

States, cities, and local communities follow the same practice. Patriot's Day 2013 was commemorated on Monday, April 15. It perhaps wasn't accidental that Boston's bombings occurred on that day.

Official accounts lacked credibility. They still do. Mounting evidence suggests state-sponsored terrorism. The FBI's long history is disturbing.

It bears full responsibility for numerous terror plots. Boston appears the latest. America needs enemies. When none exist, they're invented.

Muslims are America's top choice. Innocent victims are set up. They're lawlessly entrapped. They're implicated in what they never imagined or planned.

Managed news misinformation claims otherwise. Big Lies repeated ad nauseam are believed. It works virtually always.

"(O)ur Islamist enemies's goals are aggressive by nature," said Shamir….(O)ffensive jihad or a jihad of conquest" follows.

"There is little that is reactive about this belief system - it is not aimed at defending its rights, but at conquering the world of the disbelievers."

America and Israel wage war on Islam. They're exploited as "war on terror" scapegoats. Israeli Muslim racism long predates its Jewish state.

Islam's true ideology is distorted. It teaches love, not hate; peace, not violence; charity, not selfishness; and tolerance, not terrorism. Islam, Christianity and Judaism have common roots.

Who'd know in today's climate of fear and hate. Muslims are exploited to wage global wars on Islam. In America and Israel, they occur abroad and at home.

Racists like Shamir take full advantage. Scoundrel media editors let them. Doing so makes them complicit in racist hate. It also shows support for imperial lawlessness that follows.

Shamir and others like him believe "al Qaeda's attacks on the United States are about toppling the American nation….This impossible goal is an integral aspect of (its) radical terrorist belief system."

Its "goal is to maim and murder innocents in the name of its religion. (It's) a concept so foreign that we reject it outright…."

"(T)his malevolent terror…must (be) underst(ood). Only then can it be conquered."

No responsible publisher would touch this type rubbish. Foreign Policy featured it.

Islam's ideology is grossly distorted. Truth is turned on its head. Israel's guilty of what Shamir blames on Muslims. So is America.

Both countries prioritize state terror. Waging war on humanity follows. Don't expect media scoundrels to explain. America's are some of the worst.

Propaganda substitutes for real news and information. AJ Liebling (1904 - 1963) once said "Freedom of the press is guaranteed only to those who own one."

He urged everyone not to "confuse what they read in the newspapers with news." It's worst of all on television. Why people waste time watching they'll have to explain.
