land of confusion

by realist Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at 2:29 PM

the conflation of criminal enterprise with 'climate change' is telling.
'Climate change' is a canard to push a carbon tax.
There are real problems with rapacious profit v. shepherding the land for its bounty. Don't expect the profiteers of exploitation to make this clear.

Carbon Tax

by nobody Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at 5:33 PM

How is it a canard if the goal is a carbon tax?

That's like saying roads are just an excuse for a gasoline tax, or ignorance is just a canard to get a portion of the state's general fund to pay for public schools.

by got it backwards? Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at 6:46 PM

" roads are just an excuse for a gasoline tax"
makes no sense as does the mantra for 'climate change' or 'green house gasses' when, unlike a gas tax which actually pays for a service or a product like roads, the idea of a carbon tax is stated to prevent a natural solar or orbital cycle and change of climate by taxing the use of resources. All of which would fund the IMF and its bloody arm, the UN.

eco-nazi panty wetting

by Lord Locksley Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at 2:51 AM
armigerous@earthlink.net

The expanded use of carbon is both good and necessary. As a result of the carbon-dioxide enrichment of the Earth’s atmosphere, plants are now growing faster. Furthermore, global warming lengthens the growing season and increases net rainfall. We are making the Earth a more fertile planet. But even better, the tenfold increase in human carbon use over the past century (from 900 million tons in 1910 to 9 billion tons in 2010) has driven a tenfold rise in global GDP per capita, from $900 per year in 1910 to $9,000 per year today. This escape of a large fraction of the world’s population from horrific poverty, accomplished through expanded carbon use, is among the greatest accomplishments in history....and the Luddite reactionaries who subsist ideologically by the shit they suck out of anAL GOREtentive's ass would reverse all of that simply so they can pretend they are morally superior to those of us who aren't conned quite that easily

heh

by Lord Locksley Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at 6:10 AM
armigerous@earthlink.net

All leftists share a common delusion, and you can hear it when they tell you what's what. "Come the Glorious Revolution" they say, "and x". Fill in the blank with whatever Utopian drivel they're spouting that day. The unwritten assumption, whether they're agitating for social justice, global warming, Bushitler sucks, what have you, is that they expect to be in charge.

The conversations they have are all variations on "what shall we do when we're in charge?" They never notice (or think it doesn't apply to them) that the first thing Socialists do when they come to power is line up the teachers & intellectuals against a wall (or baseball field) and shoot them.

They never picture themselves against a wall...just in charge of the firing squads. And they're happy with it.

So of course when we shut down international pollution travel, it's "except for us as we coordinate the world courts". When we "force all humans to live a sustainable lifestyle" we expect to use our computers to burn electricity & our cars to go to market "because we're special. We're going to be in charge. Hardship is for the proletariat which we most certainly are not."

They tell themselves that its all for the greater good because they serve The State. Then they get in their handmade Zils & drive down the center lane which is reserved for them; they enjoy their dachas in the forest, and they ensure that each new 5-Year Plan is better than the last.

And in the miserable now, they comfort themselves with the dreams of Justice To Come, knowing that the miscreants will be punished, that they will be the punishers, and that everyone will be happy because they will be happy.

"Deep inside the human breast beats the burning desire to tell others what to do,. They never say 'please make this illegal so I won't be tempted.' "

and, in other news

now false noise is telling gullible couch potatoes that wind turbines cause global warming.

New polls show that Republicans popularity keeps getting worse and worse.

Now just 22% of Americans, nearly a record low, consider themselves Republicans.

and the approval rating of Congressional Republicans, has also sunk to a corresponding low.

and another poll, a few weeks ago, showed Congress, is less popular than cock roaches, head lice, and used car salesmen.

man made drought?

by HAARP v. 'Climate Change' Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at 7:20 PM

Aside from the solar fluctuation over its 11 year cycle, the effects of profit motivated climate manipulation posses major questions about chemtrails through Operation Cloverleaf and the huge facilities being run by now private industry.

the subject of 'climate change' was brought up in the photos and therefore the door is open to challenge this man made myth, particularly after your drought charts posted to support this myth again were posted.

the myth that conspiracy theory is real while climate science and actual measurements must be false

I'd probably keep plugging away the same old tired lies for years too, no matter what evidence, data, tests or measurements were presented, no matter how many times, and no matter how many times I was proven wrong.

after all, to the teabagger mentality nothing matters but the drive for profit

a mentality billionaires implanted into a small and ever-shrinking minority which are increasingly out of touch with 99 % of the population with every passing day.

to admit being wrong about anything, ever, is to pull the first cornerstone out from the house of cards of lies and deceit the whole teabagger value system is built with.

so as tipping points are crossed and the climate crisis accelerates, more and more outlandish fantasies must be spun to keep the house of lies from collapsing

man is to blame for everything

except fossil fuel emissions - those are entirely blameless, even beneficial

- so say the billionaires enjoying record profits from them..

Strategies Of Containment

http://la.indymedia.org/news/2013/02/258600_comment.php#258601

its something I do for free - for pleasure.

living in this hotbed of -people like you - I can look at it as a cup half empty or half full.

should I have an attitude of dispair focusing on how bad it is here compared to the rest of the country, or look at it as an opportunity, a pioneer in being the first of real media in an area that so badly needs real media..

I see it as an opportunity and a challenge and air accordingly .

this chit chat, on here, is only a slight diversion, a little 'playtime with bozo' as it were.

now if bozo would only publish, rather than just hide in the comments, maybe 'the readers' would begin to take him seriously

not just a job, a way of life?
your past performance tells anyone all they would need to know about you. And your close relationship, apparently with a certain [ *very sensitive*] member of this collective, who welcomed you aboard years ago, to play fast and loose with the truth while you played every trick in the book to insult, and fabricate some fantasy about me trying to profit off of bringing up uncomfortable facts about your postings. You're always there to attempt gatekeeping with moronic graphics and tainted 'science' from compromised sources.
The curious reader who has done even minimal digging into the subjects of Operation Cloverleaf, weather warfare or viewed the films mentioned, will have an entirely new prospective on the myth of 'climate change'.
