Nov 6: Vote Your Conscience: Peace & Freedom & Green

by Remember Roe v Wade Monday, Nov. 05, 2012 at 7:29 PM

It is barricades time now as election day is November 6, 2012. When we vote, we remember Roe v Wade, the 1973 decision under President Nixon, legalizing abortion in the US, with the majority opinion written by Republican Nixon appointee, Justice Blackman, with a Democratic Kennedy appointee, Justice White, dissenting proving that it is mass movements that make the difference. The so-called “lesser” evil is just plain evil. You have to vote your conscience if you want anything to improve as Peace & Freedom Party and the Green Party are products of grassroots movements.

You can vote for Peace & Freedom Party or Green Party for president in California. Due to the disastrous Top Two primary law that passed in 2010, we cannot vote for P&F or Green for US Senate or Congress on November 6, 2012, unless one of these parties’ candidates made the top two in the primary, which is rare. Lawsuits are pending to overturn the Top Two but if Top Two prevails, these two urgently needed parties will depend on your registration in those parties to stay on the ballot beyond 2014, which means they must double their current registration of 115,034 for the Green Party and 61,987 for Peace & Freedom Party. They did increase their registration this past year, but not enough to overcome Top Two.

WHEN THE HISTORY BOOKS ARE WRITTEN FOR THE PRESENT ELECTION, they will not comment on who voted for the twin parties of capitalism, war and fascism, the Democrat-Republicans, but who voted for the parties of the workingclass, peace, social justice, labor, socialized medicine, legalizing all drugs including marijuana, abolishing fossils fuels and nuclear power, abolishing the military-prison-industrial complex, for abortion and gay marriage and for the future of humanity and the earth, namely Peace & Freedom Party and the Green Party.

IN ADDITION TO THIS HISTORICAL FACT, WE HAVE HISTORY IN THE MAKING WITH PROPOSITION 34, ABOLISHING THE DEATH PENALTY, which abolition has always been supported by Peace & Freedom Party and the Green Party. Currently, only 66% of Democrats claim to support abolition of the death penalty, and the Democratic Party has always been just as much a pro-death penalty party as the Republicans, with most Democrat-Republican candidates for all offices, especially governor and president, including the current president, being staunch supporters of the death penalty. SO PLEASE VOTE YES ON 34. For more information, see:

For president, Peace & Freedom Party is running Roseanne Barr for President and Cindy Sheehan for vice-president. For more information, see:

For all California propositions, you can go to the above parties’ websites and to:

http://www.calvoter.org/

http://www.calvoter.org/voter/elections/2012/general/index.html

http://www.calvoter.org/voter/elections/2012/general/props/index.html

The Calvoter website has the pro and con websites for each proposition.

Please be sure to read all of the ballot arguments for all of the propositions in your Voter Handbooks. You have by now received at your address of voter registration one handbook from the State of California with all of the state propositions and the US Senate campaign and one handbook from your County Registrar with everything else.

You can vote absentee today, Sunday, in many counties, including San Francisco at your County Registrar, tomorrow in all counties absentee at your County Registrar and on Tuesday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on a regular ballot at your County Registrar or at your polling place listed on the back cover of your County booklet. If you have misplaced that booklet, you can find your polling place at:

http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/find-polling-place.htm

IT IS TOO LATE TO MAIL ANY ABSENTEE BALLOT. You can hand-deliver it to your County Registrar or to any polling place in your county before or on Election Day.
