At the internet site of ( Single Payer Action ) you will find that they want to have a government run single payer health insurance. This government run health insurance will have no co-pays, deductibles or bills.
Just FYI, in Canada they have "national health care", where the government runs the hospital. It's also called socialized healthcare.
"Single payer" is a system where the government runs the insurance, generally via taxes, and the hospitals and providers are privately operated businesses. Many will be nonprofits. They will get paid by the government, just like they do with Medicare.
The difference is in who runs most of the hospitals and clinics.
