We Should Have Single Payer Health Insurance Like They Have In Canada

by David Ferguson Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at 10:14 PM

The one thing that americans need to import from Canada is their health insurance.

If you get sick in Canada you will get treated. If you don't beleive me then read this story. Read this story titled ( Emergenccy Care In Canada posted August 6, 2011 ) and you will find that their is no long lines of people begging for treatment. When you type in the above title this story ( Getting Up Close And Personal With Emergency Care, Canadian Style by Michelle Andrews posted August 3, 2011 ) will pop up. You can find this story at ( Single Payer Action ) and more stories like it at their internet site. At the internet site of ( Single Payer Action ) you will find that they want to have a government run single payer health insurance. This government run health insurance will have no co-pays, deductibles or bills.

They don't have Single Payer in Canada

by johnk Monday, Apr. 16, 2012 at 9:40 AM

Just FYI, in Canada they have "national health care", where the government runs the hospital. It's also called socialized healthcare.

"Single payer" is a system where the government runs the insurance, generally via taxes, and the hospitals and providers are privately operated businesses. Many will be nonprofits. They will get paid by the government, just like they do with Medicare.

The difference is in who runs most of the hospitals and clinics.
