People Placards and Signs

by Marcus Sunday, Oct. 02, 2011 at 8:09 PM

I knew that if I were coming out again for a protest, it wouldn't be an ANSWER Los Angeles protest, lol. Well, there were very very few ANSWER Los Angeles placards and signs (thanks Good). You know the ones that are made in factories by the thousands, with a predetermined slogan on them. Did you say SHEEPS? Anyway it was very nice to see so many people come out with so many different home made placards with smart words and phrases on them. There were so many many good one. Next thing you know, probably next week, ANSWER Los Angeles will come out in numbers. That is, numbers of placards made in factories with their predetermined slogan on them. And their "leaders," yes the big chiefs, will tell us what to do. I guess the people didn't wait for their "leaders" to start Occupy LA, otherwise they would still be waiting, LOL.

More Organization Needed

by ^ Sunday, Oct. 02, 2011 at 10:35 PM

Three cheers for ANSWER as their signs are always excellent. Looking at all the signs in the photos, it is clear to me that the demands are no different from all our peace march demands. I have yet to see a list of demands from all these Occupy groups. From the signs, it appears these are basic labor, peace and justice demands. You can only win these demands with organization and with labor organizing. This country is only 10% organized so a lot of labor organizing is needed. Also, the small numbers at these Occupy groups is strange. There are 10 million people in Los Angeles County, 8 million people in New York City. Yet, these events attract at most 1,000-5,000 people. This also means there is no organization. Three cheers for ANSWER.

ANSWER sucks

by nobody Monday, Oct. 03, 2011 at 2:01 AM

Five or six slogans on a bunch of identical clone-signs, all with the ANSWER URL and phone number? That is BORING. BORING BORING BORING. It's soul sucking conformity. Communists call it unity, but the average person thinks it's repetitive.

Permitted marches where the entire route is closed down to business, so no people are around - is ANNOYING. Where's the opportunity to impress people? It's better to stay on the sidewalk, and spread the march across multiple sidewalks.

They tell us that the yellow tape - that band of oppression - is for our safety. As if we cannot walk down the street in a straight line. Or are hostile people going to attack us, or will we attack them? Because if that's the case, a strip of plastic isn't going to stop them.

There are other annoyances (that to me are only mildly annoying because I don't experience them) like the leader-led meetings, with pronouncements from the Committee.

Let's not get started with how the RCP is copying the 90s anarchists (who are now middle aged and cranky).

The message of solidarity is that we may have different issues, but we can still fight together. This occupation is an occupation of solidarity.

Publicity Stunts Change Nothing

by Labor Creates All Wealth Monday, Oct. 03, 2011 at 4:44 AM

Only a labor movement capable of taking state power can put an end to the capitalist profit motive, the cause of our grief. We are not spending our time waving signs on the streets promoting an advertising campaign when we need to end the capitalist profit motive. You had better go to the labor unions of Los Angeles County, as New York did, and get them to participate if you want to be effective. Otherwise, you will continue to have a tiny group of people just waving signs. Remember, there are 310 million people in this country, about 200 million of whom are adults, of whom perhaps 160 million are the workingclass, those of us who sell our labor for less than $77,000 a year. If you do not like ANSWER's signs at a demonstration, you can always bring your own, and people always do. The fact remains, waving signs does not stop or change anything. You have to be able to shut down the means of production.

a point to ponder

by Auntiborg Jr. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at 9:53 AM

What we sure don't need at these mobilizations are spooks representing the status quot in order to direct these mass movements towards their own purposes.
A common tactic of divide and diffuse by these foundation funded wrecking programs is consensus and secret steering committees.
Leadership outside of the parameters of chosen agendas terrifies these *organizations*.

One may wonder what ever happened to the anti-war movement , huh, ANSWER?
Your filth helped to give us your meat puppet, Obama.
do us all a favor and piss off.
