there has been enough radium, plutonium and daughter isotopes released on the winds to kill every human on Earth by cancer.

It takes a 3nanogram load to produce a lethal dose, insuring a slow painful death within a few years.

That means that just a few pounds of this material, distributed among the populations of this biosphere will kill. There were uncounted tons of this material detonated and or fissioned into the atmosphere. The resulting ionizing radiation is causing the extremely high precipitation along the west coasts, loaded with contamination. Which is why the EPA is now waiting every three months to measure contamination.
