Another KPFK Local Station Board election is fast approaching and your vote COUNTS!!

by Grassroots KPFK Saturday, Jun. 05, 2010 at 3:53 AM
grassrootskpfk@gmail.com

Make sure your membership is up-to-date prior to the deadline of June 30, 2010.

There are three ways you can become a member of KPFK before the deadline and be eligible to vote:

1. You can contribute a minimum of – the Spring Fund drive will be here in 2 weeks, you can donate online or by phone at that time.

2. You can volunteer for a minimum of three (3) hours. There are two ways to volunteer:

The first way is to work at the station by answering phones or doing other work that is needed. Contact the volunteer coordinator Jessica at jwood@kpfk.org or at 818-985-2711 x513 or contact Reza of the Outreach Committee at 323-660-5123.

Take advantage of the upcoming fund drive to volunteer by answering phones for a minimum of 3 hours.

Be sure to sign in and sign out in the log book so that your volunteer time is documented and recorded!

The second way to volunteer is to become a member of a committee of the Local Station Board and participate in monthly committee meetings for at least the minimum number of hours. This would count toward next year’s membership as there is not enough time to accrue your 3 hours prior to June 30.

To join a committee check the website calendar for meeting schedules or email us for information.

3. If you can't contribute money and you can't contribute your time to volunteer, you can request a fee waiver. We will assist you to get a fee waiver if you need one, but this takes extra time and must be done ASAP, so please let us know right away by responding to this email.

Important:

In the past and for a variety of reasons, there have been many listeners who did not receive their ballots in a timely manner. Should this happen to you and to Expedite the mailing of a substitute ballot, it may be necessary to present proof of your donation, volunteer hours, or fee waiver. Please make sure that you have some proof of your donation at hand, and contact us if you fall into the volunteer category so that we may assist you in making certain the station has properly documented your hours of service.

Please share this important information with your friends and colleagues who are listeners.

Your involvement is vital to KPFK’s election process.

We need your vote to "Take Back KPFK!"

If you give KPFK more than the ...

by x-sustainer Sunday, Jun. 06, 2010 at 8:02 PM

If you give, pledge more than the regular / yr DO NOT EXPECT any carry over to another year or time to still be considered a subscriber...cuz they 'forget' the larger sums

and do not consider any more than the 'on air' and billing as a 'thank you'.

FYI when I donated ,000 a number of years ago as a tithe

from a won lawsuit, it was considered a 1x donation, with my subscription not extended nor my contribution more meaningful than the receipt of it.

Strange ways to do business...vote for is cheaper than assuming you ever are paying for a longer duration with a big hunk sum.

On the other hand, anyone can take the train to Universal City and sit there for 3 hrs answering a few phones, eat the food provided and assume "inclusion" as a Supporter ...huh? too easy to assume the poor are more valued than those who occasionally can afford MORE and give it too !

Who decides these rules of who is a stakeholder ?

What makes them "fair" or equalizing ?

Who speaks for the whole membership - not the LSB for sure !

and Who is working enough to pay up more and more every fund drive ?
