To mutilate literature and history = to do movies in the USA.

Unlike the version with Kevin Costner, the new film doesn't have useless scenes done starting from the arrow. It doesn't also have witch nor Islamic warrior. The war scenes are more realistic. The political and historical subjects were brought for the surface of the history, in reason of this the film won more realism and verisimilitude. The interpretation of Max von Sydow is impeccable. Russell Crowe could have learned something with him. But this seems to be impossible. Crowe is Crowe in any situation, clothes or film. The defects of the new film elapse of their virtues. When bringing the medieval history inside of the myth, the authors of the text should have maintained the maximum possible of verisimilitude. But this didn't happen in what concerns Ricardo's Lion Heart death. Besides, this new Robin Hood lives in a Medium Age in that the clergy doesn't have any social importance or political power. The new Robin didn't also stay faithful to the myth created starting from Willian Langland's poem. On Robin Hood Jacques Le Goff, in his book Heroes and Marvels of the Medium Age, it affirms that the "... popular marks that contributes for to consolidate his mythical image it was his fact to be an archer. He carries, therefore, the arch, emblematic accessory that opposes him to the noble horseman to horse, of his lance and sword". But the character interpreted by Crowe passes most of the time acting as a horseman or representing to be a horseman. Crowe seems to have incorporated the archer all of swordsman's abilities that heacquired in Gladiator. This is an onlooker inversion in relation to version with Kevin Costner. In that film Robin is a nobleman and, therefore, a sword horseman. In spite of this, after returning to England the character it becomes a skilled archer. New Robin begins as archer and it finishes the film as experienced horseman that commands a cavalry load. Everything well considered the film with Crowe is just worth the entrance. But if you get a discount the price it will be fairer.

We don't have Robin Hood and his Merry Men. We have Robber Barons and their protectors in Law Enforcement. Isn't that why Rebellions are being put down in Thailand and Greece? So the Robbers Barons can continue to Rob from the Poor and Give to The Rich. Wait a Minute they are the Rich.

To believe in Robin Hood myth is indispensable for the existence and reproduction of the true Robber Barons.
This is not a case in that the art imitates the life. It is a case in that the art ALLOWS the life of some to the detriment of many.
