ELECTION FORUM and DEBATE IN PTOWN, A SUCCESS

Once more the Filipinotown community proved that they are united in spirit and action. The DEBATE SA PTOWN, an election forum and debate between representatives of presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the Philippine presidential elections on May 10, 2010 was held in the KAPISTAHAN Grill last April 21 in Historic Filipinotown, in the heart of Los Angeles. For two hours, people gathered from different political parties and witnessed the slugfest between the supporters of the candidateswhich was filled with laughters, standing ovations and clarifications in a very lively discussions. Jay Valencia and Linda Cross of the Villanueva camp, Terry Herrera of the Aquino campaign , Bobby Reyes of the Villar-Legarda at Eliseo Art Silva of the Teodoro and Errol Santos of the Binay for vice president groups traded barbs and political views for two hours cheered on and egged by their supporters in lively debate..

ELECTION FORUM and DEBATE IN PTOWN, A SUCCESS

Los Angeles- Once more the Filipinotown community proved that they are united in spirit and action.

The DEBATE SA PTOWN, an election forum and debate between representatives of presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the Philippine presidential elections on May 10, 2010 was held in the KAPISTAHAN Grill last April 21 in Historic Filipinotown, in the heart of Los Angeles.

For two hours, people gathered from different political parties and witnessed the slugfest between the supporters of the candidateswhich was filled with laughters, standing ovations and clarifications in a very lively discussions.

Jay Valencia and Linda Cross of the Villanueva camp, Terry Herrera of the Aquino campaign , Bobby Reyes of the Villar-Legarda at Eliseo Art Silva of the Teodoro and Errol Santos of the Binay for vice president groups traded barbs and political views for two hours cheered on and egged by their supporters in lively debate..

People participated by asking questions given in cue cards and conrolled by the BANTAY PILIPINAS panel of moderators.

BANTAY Questions Answered

BANTAY PILIPINAS gave two main questions the reps answered. Will there be an failure of Elections and what is life after GMA /what your candidate will do?

All of them were optimistic that the elections will not fail. But all agrred it will be a troublesome elections. Everybody is prepared for any eventuality. But they all differ in what their candidate will do if they got elected.

BANTAY Convernor Jerry Esguerra explained why BANTAY PILIPINAS was formed and its aims and purposes.

The program was started with the singing of the national anthems by BALITA journalist Romy Borje. Austin Baul of BANTAY PILIPINAS and Cheryl Zarate. Ably moderated the event. Timekeepers and staff were Cory Esguerra, Cila Esguerra, Emily Chan and Wendy Natividad.

Several media people covered the event and the Asian Journal, Errol Santos and Al Garcia provided the logistics for the event.

BANTAY PILIPINAS thanked the KAPISTAHAN Grill and the HIFI community for the splendid and successful event.
