Back when Bush was president, MSNBC's Kieth Olberman was the man. Not because he was left, but because he did his job and reported on the outragious dung propaganda comming out of DC. His ratings kept going up, and up and up.
At that time, Fox news was just a cheer leader for Bush, and their ratinngs kept falling because they refused to do their job and report what was happening.
NOW, Fox ratings are going up up up, while the left leaning media ratingas are going down. It is because Fox is reporting on the outragious dung propaganda comming out of DC and Olberman etc are just playing the cheer leaders of Obama. Climategate is a great example.
If you want good programming, you are going to need people who are not only able to report the truth, but are willing to report the truth. Otherwise, you are just kissing the asses of the elites who controle both parties.

It is none of our business who does the programming or what their message is.

I can't argue with that. It is not our business who does the programming or what agenda they push.
It is the stockholders business. And if they want the managment to provide a format that is able to get and hold market share, the managment is going to do what it must. And in this case, that means being more than just a cheerleader for the elite's propaganda.
Good product gets market share. Vacant propaganda drives people away.
If leftist reporters would actualy do their jobs and report, there would be no need to hire rightist reporters or others who are willing to do the job of reporting.

KPFK has been a tool of the fascist right element when they brought Ian Masters into the 'background briefing" of this compromised and powerful (watt wise ) station. Of course it wont be allowed to air real programs like Guns & Butter or Taking Aim which still play on WBAI. I gave, they screwed the pouch. As usual. And I can't stand Sniliah Chohatour [sp] with that infantile patronizing tonal bird talk. Good money gone to the wrong side. Never ever again.

just look at the names of those who are featured...
those who held for a very very very long time a program space and now never want to share
never want to give up that powered position
never think of being fair and giving others "a chance"
never stop their retaliation for being moved
never share
never give up an inch to others who also have as much to say and just as well...maybe differently tho never stop trying to self-aggrandize via KPFK
never go elsewhere instead to prove they have merit never go away
some of us dont like them any more, and want SOMETHING DIFFERENT, something else, something more relevant to the current times....
yet these same people insist they OWN something at KPFK ? or thought they did ? Or want to ?
these people are not nice generous sharing people but self-centered and often insulting other groups that are not of same minded as they are
these people are trying to "get back" revenge anyone who ever tells them "you've already had your time, you need to share and give someone else a chance too"
oh noo...
programming needs to be repetitive and the same old same old boring booooooring stuff they spew out
why cant KPFK be innovative
why cant KPFK staff try new voices and opinions
why cant KPFK programmers shift and change
why cant KPFK create better programs than the same old ones that have died on the vine already from repeating themselves for so long ?
why cant KPFK change
why cant KPFK improve ??????
because the same old repetitive old timers want to keep it all,,,,, for themselves... just the same as they had it... when they had it... greedy needy people who cant prove their worth elsewhere so want to come back to roost in same used up nest ?
thank goodness they are GONE now
and
now some experiments can be tried, some new attempts amd discoveries made , some new programs aired , maybe even new views and opinions, and new programmers can enrich and enliven this staid old station that WAS much more relevant 40 years ago - when it was more educational and innovative and varied...
a station that in more recent years has again gotten stuck with the few demanding-claimants who insist and want ONLY their program time forever and ever after. for their own reasons and benefits. while claiming they are acclaimed by everyone else.. ha !
these people make fake ego claims of popularity - in that they promote their programs and views to look- like it is 'others who want us back'
when it is They who are doing PR and self-promotions amongst their special groups and friends... and selling their pitiful rejected stories to get a 'following'....
as if only those listeners of these peopdle were the whole of KPFK stakeholders and these followers could pledge enough to keep the station stable financially too ...huh ???? give us a break ~~~ huh ?
Forget the listeners or the real financial state of the station. These people just want what THEY WANT. Forget the times and changes and money concerns of Pacifica. Forget us, who pay and pay and then tune out turn away because of the same repetitious malarky and insulting jibes of those very same unwanted any more programers ...those listed above...from the past ..want to "return" to their old assumed glory. huh ???
Please... let CHANGE HAPPEN finally.
Stop trying to revert reactionarily to the past.
Get Present and get real.
Try something else than what was-beforoe for a CHANGE.

yep, above comment is also correct...
some of the old programmers have been staff for 25 years, ie Roy Tuckman not just a programmer but a volunteer, worker, unionized employee and .....with some other programmers also inserting their stuff in his time
but the other ones listed may need to move over too... cuz their messages may be repetitive...anyone want to let everyone know just how long these "old" positions have been held ?
and what their Arbitron or ratings are...# of listeners to that program?
and how much their programs add to the financial stability of this faltering station ?
and who decides who goes and who stays and gives stakeholders some reasons and understanding for their decisions ?
just look at the names of those who are featured... those who held for a very very very long time a program space and now never want to share

yep, some have been around for a long time...and some need to be reveiwed for value, for Arbitron ratings, for how well they have followers/ paid supporters and for how innovative and relevant they and their programs still are..
not all named above are staid, boring, angry, vengeful on air, as biased as others, nor are they as repetitious as others are.
Roy Tuchman has been a volunteer and then a staff person for upteen years, for sure and with still some of the most varied programs, not 1 theme fits all...but he too may need to be reviewed and re-evaluated and whatever seems BEST FOR THE STATION'S MAKING IMPROVEMENTS should be tried
trial and error go together, no guarantees anywhere, not even at a non profited corp like KPFK...
so to name names is easy, to get the stats and facts is not so easy
anyone have such factual information to share about what ratings are on the programs? Arbitron or whoever finds out how many listeners there are at that time period for instance....
how does that compare with other programs or similar viewed ones on KPFK or elsewhere ?
what biases and special prejudices have been complained about or recorded at KPFK or elsewhere ?
and how about the value of cold cash brought in because stakeholders want the program to continue on at KPFK ? does that count or not ?
age and seniority are just one claim to permance but not enough when other aspects do not give that program sufficient claim to fame or continuation either.
it is definitely time for Change...we want it everywhere else but not at "home" or KPFK or where our own alliances lay..how hypocritical even the Left free-so-called-thinkers are..
why is this not ever mentioned ?
change for now, for the difficult times, for a difference as well as a continuation...they dont contradict each other but can paradox well together

is someone going to report on what actually took place, what was said by the stars and organizers and how many attended and what resulted?
or was this just an announcement to make the complainers about not having their sacred spaces as before more visible ?

no one is reading Indymedia la or no one is wanting to inform all who could not attend the here-hyped meeting what did happen, who said what and what was resolved or decided.
is this an advertising site only ?
or a way to share and discuss and communicate site ?
what a waste of time to only read the ads and commercials and then be ignored for asking questions...
a mis-use of a website, if you ask us... but not one person asks or tells the rest of us anything of the results of that hyped ad ... only the hype appears here.. hmmmmmmmmm

instead of reprimanding those who could not attend, why doesnt the above commentator OFFER US ALL some basic info or a review or whatever...
was it all so secret and behind closed doors that those who did attend cannot say anything outside to the rest of us who could be there ?
why the superior stance of telling us how to get there instead of SHARING what you all know ?
same old possessive strategies of superiority or is it paranoid styled erroneous thinking instead ?
