In the end, they demonstrated for all of 40 minutes maximum during which time they were pushed, spit on, taunted, and eventually asked the police to escort them to their vehicles for fear of their safety. We chased them all the way back to their cars, spitting on them and throwing whatever was at hand at them until they had been driven out of sight. Immediately the crowd broke into cheers of victory and chants of ANTIFA! and Bash the Fash! rang out.
But it wasn't over, we listened to several speakers give short talks before we caravaned checking out leads to where we expected the Nazis would be having their meeting. We were unable to find it, but we did find a nazi on a bike who was clearly getting gasoline for the flag burning they planned. He was followed through side streets and clearly knew he was being tailed. After he finally got away, we had scouts scour the neighborhoods. We did not find them but they know that we were looking for them, and that we are fucking serious.
Word is they're planning another rally in Rialto. So get involved and keep your ears pricked for more news. We won a victory today but we have to be ready whenever they show their miserable faces to stomp them back into the holes they crawled from. ANTIFA!
We all did an amazing job, it's not common for anarchists to see the immediate results of their victories. I suggest we begin making it standard practice for a majority of anarchist participants to organize before each rally, that way we can brainstorm and stay a step ahead. We did amazing things with small numbers, we should keep at it until we've driven them out of southern california. By the way, what is the seeds under snow collective (if i remember the name correctly)?
I'm going to go there. How many people are expected to be at that one?
The threat of neo-Nazi hate groups is being hyped up by watchdog agencies like SPLC to justify continued funding for their spy equipment;
"CounterPunch says SPLC purposefully creates hysteria and fears about the right wing and extremist groups to raise money. So far their strategy has worked: Dees and SPLC have built a $100 million endowment. "This is not the first time that the SPLC has covered for government thuggery," notes CounterPunch. The liberal publication said SPLC sided against Randy Weaver, "thus undercutting liberal outrage over the government’s violations of Weaver’s constitutional rights." Morris Dees and Southern Poverty Law Center
I began to see this long-term goal take shape when I learned in 1998 that with heavy lobbying from the ADL, the influential Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and its founder Morris Dees had for the first time in decades declared the Nation of Islam a "hate-group". This was a major development as the SPLC had traditionally targeted real hate groups that had for years physically attacked Blacks. The decision to include the NOI on the list was met with skepticism and suspicion by some Black groups but Dees, after admitting it wasn't an easy decision and that he was not fully informed of the NOI's track record, decided to maintain the "hate-group" designation.
Interestingly, Black leaders and organizations did not speak out when the Nation of Islam was designated as a "hate-group" by Morris Dees Southern Poverty Law Center - an organization that works hand-in-hand with civil-rights organizations, the ADL and FBI and which is pushing for hate-crimes legislation that we believe is ultimately aimed at outlawing the Nation of Islam and other "unacceptable" groups in the Black community.
Now that pro-minority lawyer Morris Dees has defeated the Aryan Nations and asked an Idaho jury for a mandate to "go after other groups" like those of Richard Butler, Nationalists are, likewise, daunting Dees by asking, "Where're the groups?"

http://www.zpub.com/notes/znote-splc.html My questions for the so-called "antifas" in Riverside are;
Whom will you spit on next?? Whose freedom of speech will you revoke by mob rule after the (eight) NSM protesters in Riverside?
SPLC targets mainstream;
"God forbid that the Southern Poverty Law Center's call for free speech and freedom of the press to be destroyed in one fell swoop succeed, but is not even their call for the destruction of these rights offense enough?
Surely there will be some far left open borders and amnesty enthusiasts, that represent less than twenty percent of the US Population on the political issues of illegal immigration, that will support the SPLC call for the firing of Dobbs because they feel they will benefit from this abridgment of Constitutional rights in America.
However, Lou Dobbs's political views are more closely aligned with the vast majority of Americans who want America's borders secured and our existing immigration laws enforced. An even larger majority of people will support Dobbs's right to say what he likes and report what he likes as an American citizen and member of the media. Thankfully, many Americans still realize that free speech is a sacrosanct pillar of our nation's political processes and once esteemed place in history.
Today, SPLC President Richard Cohen sent out another release claiming that Lou Dobbs has some association with James von Brunn, the neo-Nazi accused of killing the Holocaust Memorial Museum guard.
This is outlandish, ridiculous, and absolutely hurtful to our Republic when you consider the fact that the SPLC and its sister organization the Anti Defamation League (ADL) have both been involved with documents sent out by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the DHS Fusion Center in Missouri that warn police to distrust American citizens based on their political beliefs, favorite books and movies, Presidential candidate choice, or bumper stickers.
Missouri MIAC Documents Scandal Leads to Advisory on SPLC & ADL;
http://www.alipac.us/article4073.html The SPLC and ADL attempts to politicize American police in a way not seen in history since the reign of Stalin or Hitler are threats to our Republic, our nation, and the the freedoms and security of all American citizens. That is why ALIPAC sent out a national advisory warning Americans about these groups earlier this year!
Now things have taken a new turn with the SPLC asking even their left leaning supporters to come along with them on a direct attack on free speech and the freedom of the press in America in a move that is designed to try and limit the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Most of us could understand and tolerate these groups and their spokespersons having different political views than us. I even fully support their free speech and right to engage in unpopular free speech supporting their positions in support for open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens.
But by targeting moderate groups and commentators, smearing their names with false associations with murderous racists, and attempting to simultaneously interfere with Constitutionally protected freedoms of Americans, the SPLC has gone too far and has become a threat to the American rules, principles, ideals and freedoms necessary to allow peaceful political change and diffuse calls for violence from the extremes.
I personally feel that the actions of the SPLC are increasing the chances of political violence in America as this group is trying to silence free expression of concerns and redress of grievances of tens of millions of Americans. The Americans the SPLC is targeting are not some violent fringe group, they are heartland Americans of every race and political party that believe in the founding principles of the United States!
Since the SPLC is actively involved in state and Federal legislation to reinforce their anti-American agenda, and since the SPLC has been identified in the effort to turn American police into political police, and since the SPLC is now fully on record calling for the firing of one of America's most respected and revered news show hosts on CNN, let us therefore resolve to seek the political removal of the SPLC from the media and political processes they seek to control.
We do not advocate anyone lift a finger in anger against them, but to engage in the process that we support and use the freedoms we still have for their intended purpose. The pen and the computer keyboard is mightier than the sword and is the apt response to this threat. The truth and a majority of Americans are on our side and all we need to do is channel that power down on the heads of those responsible for these outrages at the SPLC.
Let us speak out with one voice against the SPLC and challenge the presence and messages of their spokespeople such as Richard Cohen, Morris Dees, Mark Potok, Heidi Beirich, and others when they are masquerading as a civil rights group before the media and lawmakers.
Let us reach out to Americans that have been funding the Southern Poverty Law Center that have been led to believe that the groups focus is on fighting radical violent groups. They need to know that their funds are being used to attack American freedoms that are important to us all. It is time for someone to launch an education campaign to counter what the SPLC is trying to do to our nation and to people like Lou Dobbs.
The SPLC is dead wrong on what they are trying to do and how they are going about it and we cannot sit idle as they move to destroy the last vestiges of freedom in America when so many of our brethren and forebears have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect those freedoms for us all."

http://www.kickthemallout.com/article.php/Story-SPLC_Danger_to_America My understanding is that the so-called "antifas" in Riverside are nothing less than the footsoldiers of the SPLC, ignoring the struggles of the Euro-american working class who try to protect their jobs from undocumented immigrants. After the NSM is chased away from Riverside and denied their rights to freedom of speech, who will be next?
The "antifas" who support undocumented immigration and "open borders" fulfill the desires of the neoliberal corporate elites of agribusiness (ConAgra, Cargill, Monsanto, ADM, etc...) that both caused and profit from continued increasing rates of undocumented immigration.
When will we see a left/right solidarity protest of the actual cause of higher rates of undocumented immigration, the free trade policies of NAFTA/WTO??
Guess it is easier for laimc editors to delete this and other comments than try to get to the source of the issue..
I understand the frustration and anger people can feel when such events arise but to attack someone because you disagree with them is wrong. Please remember under the first amendment in the constitution people have the right to peacefully assemble regardless how much you disagree with their ideas/beliefs. Freedom of Speech protects everyone. I wouldn't consider this a victory for the counter protesters but a disappointment.
The racial/colonialist aspect and history of the southland of California should be given serious consideration, because the media will only give out a twisted version of these clashes, leading to no resolution at all. I was fortunate to be raised by my maternal grandparents on the corner of Evans and Dolores streets, in Casa Blanca. They had moved to Riverside from El Paso having family here already. In Mexico my grandfather had been of the gentry class and fled to avoid Huerta's recruiters who offered him a colonelcy and troops to fight his own cousins husband a certain general, named Villa. His older brother got the education and he the property, which he left behind, and so labored all of his life here, mostly for the then ubiquitous and powerful citrus industry along with several of my uncles. I attended Casa Blanca Elementary, segregated, starting in 1943. Bi-lingual and bright, I benefited from close attention by my grandparents who wanted to send me to mom someday a civil and civilised child. But Casa Blanca Elementary was only passing 2/3rds of the chicanitos and keeping the rest back to serve as labor, as orange and lemon pickers, packers and handlers. And eventually flunking a good percentage as "uneducable." When, in the second grade I checked the texts up to 5th grade I found only "Dick and Jane" gibberish, to my dismay, but I did not know yet what that meant. Spotting my reading abilities Mrs. Wight my teacher and Madden the principal soon used me in narrating the racist Thanksgiving play, about two puritan girls who fret endlessly about an off stage Indian's character. They never resolve whether to trust him or not. Madden went as far as pretending to my grandmother (he spoke spanish ) that I might have stolen a nickle simply to get in our front door to question her about my uncles and aunts status: "married?", "living where?" "Staying out of jail?" If one was dark-skinned one stood a good chance of learning zilch, my uncle Ruben was kicked out and only had a shoe shine box to show for it. My aunt Ann, fair-skinned trained to be a secretary, only to be fired in Riverside, at her first job ever in 1949, when they ralised that her surname Fierro was "mexican" and not Italian as they had thought. The so-called Zoot Suit Riots happened on my 5th Birthday and were discussed, you bet, for several days in our family. My uncles on both moms and my dads family fought for the U.S. in both the Pacific and European wars against racist/fascist oppressors , only to return to the same social and economic conditions for our varrios. Ismael "Smiley" Villegas of Casa Blanca, posthumous winner of the Congressional. Medal of Honor was my aunt Lupe's betrothed, I was there when his brother came to tell us of ,Smiley"s death, and saw my poor aunt pass out.The cops have ALWAYS harrassed my community, and were ALWAYS happy to pin a profile on my neighbors and cousins, for anything.
