Anti-fascist activists are declaring victory in shutting down a Nazi rally in Riverside.
Caller from the scene reports a group of about 20 Nazis tried to stage a rally in front of a HomeDepot store this morning in Riverside. A contingent of close to 100 activists, including Mecha, Brown Berets, local anarchists and day labors at the site were able break up the rally. Activists surrounded the Nazis and attempted to seize their Nazi flags and burn them. Nazis were forced to retreat under the protection of a police escort. No arrests or injuries have been reported.
Caller said that Anti-fascist activists are now headed to a location believed to be the Nazis headquarters.

I hope this isn't a hoax, and hopefully someone will provide photographs and/or video. I love seeing Republican traitors have their clocks cleaned for them -- which is amusing because it's usually Mexicans cleaning their toilets also. LOL!
If this actually happened, we need more of this!

here is a link to a local newspaper in Riverside, CA: http://www.pe.com/localnews/inland/stories/PE_News_Local_E_nazi25.45dedc7.html The paper is a bit off, though. There were over 400 counter-protestors, 200 in each location, the rally and the counter-rally. Here is also a video uploaded by a comrade at the Home Depot demonstration. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5owf6j_CrA4

I would like to know what people think about the fact that this nazi rally was completely "shut down" and had their flags burned? Isn't that being a bit fascist? I dislike nazis as much as the next person, but isn't their little rally thing considered free speech? Or does that apply only to viewpoints that we like?

While I understand how it can be viewed as a form of fascism to disrupt and end their protest, there is another perspective to the situation.
Nazism, or fascism in general, wishes to disrupt democracy, as well as oppress groups of people. In the case of the NSM, they have attacked immigrants in our city, as well as all across the country, not including the racist attacks they have committed around the country and within our city (I mention the immigrant attacks due to their targeting primarily based around local day labor sites).
To the NSM, they are in a state of war against democracy and liberty. Therefore, the rule of allowing a hate group to have equal rights as a group of differing ideologies (such as right wing republicans or liberals) does not apply, due to their hopes to resort to violence and/or destroying a group of people in order to succeed at their goals.
This leaves the fundamental question and situation whether to defend democracy and liberty by resorting to violence, or by pacifism. That would be left to the individual to decide, but in the cases of fascism and Nazism, they usually destroy such groups. As anti-fascists, we defend those who need to be defended, by any means necessary. Therefore, if they wish to attack our community, we must protect our community in a way that is accommodating to the situation at hand.

Free speech is a basic human right. But like all rights they don’t come without responsibilities. The first responsibility is to exercise those rights without the intent to violate the rights of others.
The first thing Nazis did when they came to power was to abolish all human rights. These Neo-Nazis hide behind free speech to spread their message of racial hatred when trying to get power, but once in power they would have no tolerance for free speech.
Those who argue that Nazis have a right to free speech are neglecting their second responsibility of any claim to a human right: To defend that right by any means necessary.

I'm tired of this nonsense that it's fascistic to fight anyone. They have the right to say whatever they want without reprisals from the state but there are consequences to advocating the extermination of people.
Cowards like the people who whine about us violating the rights of neo nazis are the kind of people that allow Oklahoma City Bombings, and Synagogues to get shot up. We can't let these people recruit, we can't give them even a foothold on the streets. They are not trying to have a civil conversation, they are trying to recruit young whites to take part in harrassment, assault and murder. Just take a look at youtube and you'll see that they post videos boasting of killing people. The cops barely even tried to stop us because these fucking assholes run drugs and guns and assault people. To me it's like claiming that bombing a nazi communications bunker in WW2 would be a violation of Free Expression. It's nonsense.
We didn't lynch them we just gave them a kick in the ass and told them they weren't welcome on our streets. So save your pacifistic bullshit, we're gonna make sure history doesn't get repeated (and I'm not referring to Germany, I'm referring to the dozens of cities in America throughout the 80s where skinheads got strong, assaulted and killed people).
