What's your problem with cops taking drunk drivers off the road? You like 50,000+ people getting killed on the nation's highways ever year? Are you a drunk driver who thinks it's your Jesus-given right to drive while drunk?
Drunk drivers should be hauled out of their vehicles and be executed on the spot.

based on past experience the most likely intersections will be...
215 W. Pomona Monterey Park Ca 91754 (just west of Pomona and Garfield)
OR
2345 S. Atlantic Monterey Park CA 91754 (Corner of Atlantic and the terminus of 1st Street)
hopefully some "text mobsters" can scout these locations out and organize an action, the roadblocks should be in effect by 7:30 p.m.
Good night... and Ba Ba Booey to you all ...

If you've been through one, you'd know that.
They start up in evening around 6 or 7 pm, when nobody is drunk. This isn't an area with a bunch of bars. There are some down on Whittier, and there's T-Quilas which might not be called that anymore. There are fewer bars here than in Burbank or Santa Monica.
What there are a lot of is undocumented people.
You pull up, and if you're not Latino (I'm not), you get waved through. I didn't even have to show ID or open my window all the way.
You look to the side, and there's some cops busting someone, and they don't look drunk. They look undocumented.
I don't want to dispel that negative stereotype that Mexicans drink a lot. They do drink their share and then some, but a lot of it is done at home where some dude's set up a sound system and blasting some Mexican music or their kid's punk band is playing at a party. Look I'm not saying everyone does this, but it happens. People have the right to party and drink at home. I think some people consider it a social responsibility to have parties, and I don't disagree. I can see these checkpoints being legit at 11pm or afterward, when people hit the road.
But there's not much drinking at 6pm.
That's just prime time for people going to and from home after a day at work.

I had a friend killed by a drunk driver 2 years ago right around this time at 7:15p.m. What do you have to say to that? and im white, Ive been through one in East LA and I wasn't waved through. All this poor me im illegal crap or im a color needs to end. Its stupid. Also where do you get off that illegals have the right to be here in the first place? if I were illegal in Mexico I would end up in jail with no trial. At least if your illegal here you get a hearing and a chance.

the so-called "DUI checkpoint" was at Pomona and Garfield. The roadblock was up at 6PM, about 2 hours before the mid-August sunset, so you know they weren't targeting drunks, they were going for the folks just getting off work.
I was able to warn some of the locals who live and work along Pomona Blvd and they were able to get the word out to their friends and relatives.
Good night and Ba Ba Booey to y'all...
