I absolutely, completely, totally, wholeheartedly agree that we should honor and care for our veterans, instead of waging what Aaron Glantz, in his book "The War Comes Home," calls "America's war against veterans." But, I would much rather see them honored with medical and psychiatric care, education, job training, and whatever else they may need to survive than with more military recruitment fests, including this Indy500 spectacle celebrating cars, greenhouse gas, advertising, and militarism.

A race car sponsored by the Indiana National Guard was the first to crash today, 05/23/2009, in the Indianapolis 500, not long after the opening ceremony to honor America's veterans, including a speech by General Craig McKinley, a three-volley salute, and the national anthem sung by a member of Indiana's Guard.
The Indiana Guard sponsored two Indy500 race cars, to promote itself, and encourage recruitment, this year. The 1313th Engineer company just deployed to Iraq, after a send-off party at East High School in Columbus, Indiana.

My mistake. I'm commenting on my own post to say that I left the wrong URL for the full text. Same website, wrong URL. Here's the right one, http://www.examiner.com/x-8257-SF-Energy-Policy-Examiner~y2009m5d24-Memorial-Day-Weekend-at-the-Indy500-greenhouse-gas-cars-stars--bars

Poor Lord Ignorant,
He dosent realize that when one resorts to violent threats and statements while arguing a point, it just renders his argument and himself, Impotent.

'greenhouse gases". Back in the '70's they warned against "global cooling". Oh, and bonus points for the fucktard throwing in "militarism", though it forgot that chestnut "homophobia".
The left still doesn't know what's going on, but they'll never miss an opportunity to look like a mental defective.
