How's it going, I'm part of the collective that is helping organize this, it is made up of members from the Revolutionary Autonomous Communities and the folks that organized the So Cal Anarchist Conference last year.
We're building this conference to educate, build, dialogue, and raise funds for our projects and our defense fund (in particular my case and the upcoming APOC - Autonomous/Anarchist/Angry People Of Color SouthWest Regional Conference in Los Angeles in January 2009.
We're going to have speakers, workshops. books, zines, vendors, information tables, organizing/strategy sessions, hopefully an APOC Caucus, and right now we're accepting ideas.
Keep in touch with us, and Keep Fighting.

Where should we park? I googled the location but only saw neighborhood streets. I'm afraid of the event being crashed by cops and our vehicles being wheel locked, towed, or ticketed.
According to the website for the venue, there is street parking available. Another option is to park at the California Science Center, which is 2.6 miles north. Well away from any cops that may crash the party and do who knows what to vehicles parked on the streets around the bookfair.
But note that the CA Science Center usually closes at 5pm. However on Saturdays they have an IMAX movie at 5:30pm. It runs about 45 minutes. So their parking lot would have to be open at least until 6:15pm. Parking is $6 for regular vehicles.
There's also apparently another parking lot, also $6, west of the Exposition Park between S. Vermont Ave and Menlo Ave where they meet Exposition Blvd. Also at the Science Center, well away from the bookfair incase anything happens.
Cops target Food Not Bombs and will perhaps target the bookfair itself. I hope not but who knows.
I myself plan on checking out the Science Center as well(neat place) so that will legitimize my use of their parking lot(paying should be enough though). I'll also ask the parking attendant how late I can park there til and if it's for Exposition Park and museums use only or if it's okay if I can go do whatever(don't tell "Anarchist Bookfair," who knows).
Most will obviously be parking on the streets at the book fair. Be sure to have an alert plan incase any cops or anyone is observed messing with your vehicles. Be sure to have cameras and camcorders ready. And be sure to check your own vehicle periodically. You don't need to go close to it since it may let cops know it's yours. Just where you can see it and make sure no one is near it.
Good luck and here's to hoping for a big turn out today.
Great news. The bookfair had a large turnout. Place was literally packed with people. Not a single cop in sight. I'm not aware of anyone's cars being messed with. More than a few came on bicycles. There was a bike workshop outside. A lot of positivity during the ABCs of Anarchism Panel. Everyone was cooperative. Looking forward to the next one!
