Petition for a Comprehensive Immigration Reform in 2009

by Victoria Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 at 6:39 PM

Sign an electronic petition for CIR in 2009 - it will be delivered to the newly elected U.S. President and members of Congress on December 1, 2008.

SUPPORT COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM IN 2009

Our country's immigration system is broken and needs to be fixed. I support bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform that reunites families, ensures national security, protects workers, and provides a path to citizenship for immigrants who uphold and embrace American values of hard work, family, patriotism, and faith.

An enforcement-only approach will not work. It only devastates families and businesses and creates a climate of terror and uncertainty. The only viable path to a lasting and meaningful solution is comprehensive reform. We cannot wait any longer. I urge you to pass comprehensive immigration reform in 2009.

This petition will be delivered to the newly elected President and Members of Congress on December 1, 2008. If you support this petition, please add your signature below and encourage others to sign the petition. We respect your privacy and will not share your email with anyone else.

Does everyone realize that the deficit in this country is outragous? Do they realize that if the charge all the illegal immigrants $1000 to become legal then that is $20,000,000,000. That would help our country in a serious way and it wouldn't have to tear families apart when they have to go back to there countries. I think it is terrible when the send hard working people back to there countries when they have a family here that needs and loves them. Is it fair to the kids that they will never see there father, mother, grandmother, granfather, aunts, or uncles just because they were born here and there family can't stay and they can't go because the are a US citizen and not a citizen of the country there family is from. Just a thought

there are 20 million illegal aliens living in the usa and our unemployment is 7. so i dont understand your mentality in letting 20 millions become legalized. whats the point . there are no jobs for these people. as far as reuniting families did they leave a family behind when they left their native lands so now is their chance to reunite with those families they left behind. as an american i dont appreciate the government playing robin hood with the taxes that i have to pay to the government!
