The number of pets abandoned is up 22%, BUT the Number of Pets KILLED is up 37%!

Even if there are more pets abandoned in 2008 as compared to 2007, the KILL RATE should not exceed the increase in abandoned pets.

Boks has newer, larger shelter facilities, and an increased staff. There is no reason other than INCOMPETENCE, for the kill rate to be higher in 2008 than it was in 2007.

WHY DOESN'T ED BOKS DO ANYTHING TO HELP THE PETS & PEOPLE OF LOS ANGELES????

Ed Boks has referred to the pets who have been abandoned due to foreclosure, as “voiceless victims”. Well then why doesn’t he do something to help those pets and their people? Boks and the Mayor have the power to make a positive change for the people & pets who have lost their homes to foreclosure. Why don’t they do it? Why is Ed Boks relying on the rescue community to solve the problem?

Boks and the Mayor could prohibit property owners from denying renal units to people with pets, OR they could offer incentives to property owners who do rent to people with pets.

The two ideas above are actually from Villaraigosa’s campaign promises. Clearly, they are among the many promises that Villaraigosa never kept.

Boks and Villaraigosa have not done anything to help people in Los Angeles who have lost their homes to foreclosure, because at the end of the day all they really care about is their next paycheck.

Hopefully both of them are wise enough to be looking for their next job, because Angelenos are tired of their lies. If Villaraigosa believes that his next job will be as governor of the great state of California, then even he has begun to believe his own BS.
