Denver, Colorado, August 25--Yesterday one thousand people showed up on the steps of the Capitol in Downtown Denver for the rally and the march calling for the end of the occupation in Iraq. Cindy Sheehan spoke first for 10 minutes asking the people to help her to displace Mrs. Pelosi from the head of congress.

Soon after, Ron Kovik spoke for a short time, ending his speech with. "The whole world is watching" which the crowd shouted back a dozen time.

Indeed the whole world will be watching the stuff that the corporate media do not report or report poorly, like this rally. More than a hundred citizen journalists who have registered with Colorado IMC, will covert the DNC reporting on different sites in the network but mainly to the US and Colorado Indymedia. These reports you might see soon. Other more detailed work will be published at the end of the DNC, like films and video productions.

At the end of the rally green party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney and her running mate beat the drum taking on the Democrats and the Republicans for catering to the rich and the powerful and not doing right by the people. Citing the outreageous military spending, Katrina, the war in Iraq, the absence of universal health care, among many other things. Her speech ended with a big sheer from the crowd.

The rally was followed by a march, from the step of the Capitol to the Pepsi Center, the location where corporate media is covering the DNC. Legal observers reported that the Denver PD were courteous during the march.

who chooses, Debbie tells us.

by Joe mamma Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008 at 7:22 PM

It is only when one is not thinking about what they are saying that they are saying exactly what they are thinking.

Speeking to Chris Mathews of hardball (?) faim, Congress woman debbie wasserman Schultz spoke of Obama's choice of Biden, with his proZionist actions, as the ONLY way democraps have a CHANCE to win the election.

tape it before it gets lost, like the BBC lost reporter talking of wtc 7 falling 20 minutes too soon.

she is there in the thick of it (IT!). She is jewish. She knows of what she speeks

Alternative to bipartisan censorship of debates

by let the 3rd parties debate one another Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 at 3:20 PM

One of the reasons many people are turning away from BOTH the Democrats and Republicans is that both of these parties play off each other's willingness to exclude any other voices from the political process..

If McCain says "Drill here! Drill now! Drill everywhere!" , the response we get from Obama is "Drill a little bit in certain offshore locations.", and this may sound like a lesser evil, though where are the voices for true alternative energy and finally ending our addiction to petroleum? Censored no doubt by the corporate Dem/Rep duopoly and their sponsors from Big Oil..

The solution to this censorship may be for the third parties to come together and debate one another, sort of a "losers debate" if you will, but at least these "losers" will be far more honest than the "winners" in the corporate funded Democrat/Republican parties..

The third party debates could include;

the Greens (Cynthia McKinney), Independents (Ralph Nader), Libertarians (Bob Barr) and Peace and Freedom Party (Candidate unknown?)

to have a fair and balanced debate and provide the audience with some actual facts and honest dialogue instead of the watered down soundbytes we'll be hearing from the Obama/McCain debates..

Third parties may disagree with the approach to problems like WTO/NAFTA free trade policies, the U.S. foreign policy of military domination for resource control (ie., Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabian all have ongoing U.S. military presence for purpose of oil control), and other issues both Dems and Reps are afraid to discuss for fear of losing their corporate sponsorship..

losers debates

by Pete Nice Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 at 8:14 PM

They do losers debates all the time. All it does is acknowledge their third party willingness to take a back seat to those that really run the country. It's rigged.
