Were you Injured on a Bike made in China???

by k.hawley Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008 at 4:23 PM

"I was biking down the road in some traffic and the entire assembly of my front-right-side crank (gears) and pedal broke off and fell on the highway."

Thats my question:"Were you injured using a bicycle or other "defective" machine or appliance that was made in China or Mexico?
My story is that I bought a bicycle (CCM - formerly a Canadian Co.) at WallMart, that was made in China, and one day a few months later I was biking down the road in some traffic and the entire assembly of my front-right-side crank (gears) and pedal broke off and fell on the highway. The axle bolt had just sheared off due to defective metal used in its manufacture.I avoided an accident or injury in this incident and I never thought much more of it.

What I did was I went back to WallMart with my sales_slip and the broken bike and they gave me a credit to get another of their bikes, this one a "Kent" a hundred year old bike company that was now being produced in China.Several months later this Kent bike, which had a "shock absorbing" style of handle bars almost threw me right off the bike as I braked on a fast curve - the handlebars dropped about 5 inches down from their normal position..I discovered later that the "shock absorbing" assembly/mechanism in the handle bars had "worn away" from friction (cheap metal again) and the handlebars had simply let go and dropped down as a result.Again I avoided injury but it was very scary and I got to thinking that although I was very lucky in these two incidents, maybe other people weren't so lucky in similiar incidents involving defective bikes that were made or assembled in countries like China,Mexico etc.? Also maybe there are many other defective products that Multi-National-Corps are producing (for quick, large profits) in China,Mexico and 3rd.world countries that have done serious injuries and damage to many, many people? What can we do? Would you care to share your story?

I know it's hard

by let's look at this Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 at 8:59 AM

How much did you pay for this bike and how much do you weigh?
Sometimes even steel has limits.

People should "Expect" to be Injured???

by k.hawley Monday, Aug. 25, 2008 at 3:27 PM

Well "lets look" closely at your (brainless) argument!

You suggest that if a bike is "lower priced" then people should "expect" to be injured on them - right?

Also,if as you state, steel "has its limits" then you'e further suggesting that bikes that are seriously flawed and dangerous are consciously being sold to American and Canadian consumers! Yikes! You really are a sanctimonious, blathering Idiot!!!

spastic response or what?
Are you attempting to overload a cheap bike?

Please grow a brain capable of answering my questions.

My Condolences!

by k.hawley Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008 at 6:21 PM

Dear Spastic Bacteria: Please try to find someone to read you the above response, titled "People should "Expect" to be injured???

Of course I understand that even if you can find someone to (slowly) read that response to you, there is very little chance that you any requisite brain power whatsoever to understand it! My condolences to your empty cranium (that is if you even rate a cranium?)

You notice no one else wants to join your wanking on China?
maybe you could pretend to be someone else.
And wank.

Cretin you can't hide from your ugly self!

by k.hawley Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 at 12:01 AM

Thats right big one (for..big nothing!) - maybe I could pretend to be someone else - but then again thats your infantile, hypocrite's game. But then again someone as intellect and talent "challenged" as you obviously are, really and desperately needs to pretend they're someone else, anyone else..but...you!!!

p.s.I'll just thank you beforehand for you simian "grunts & groans" that you droolingly consider your very clever rebuttals!

ha ha ha ha...

by reduced and then some Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 at 1:07 AM

well then,,,

Aside from your empty and laughably unhinged 'responses' to 2 questions...
Try to answer the questions.
What is your weight?
How much did you pay for your little broken toy(s)?
How long have you suffered from Tourret's?

Thank you for reading this.

tell us...

by anti-spook Saturday, Sep. 06, 2008 at 11:10 PM

So tell me... does China have a tissue program like the one Bayer had that willingly and knowingly sold AIDS tainted blood products to the 3rd world?
We are so damn pure, aren't we?
Let's do the work of the 'left' CIA and attack China under the 'left' cover of consumer or democratic 'justice'.
While we commit every crime in the books.

another thing

by anti-spook Sunday, Sep. 07, 2008 at 4:57 AM

Webster tarpley is correct about the Zbigniew Brzezinski faction of the hidden government taking over the process from the israel firsters as propaganda and covert/overt actions against Russia's enemies takes priority over the old neocon [ read Bush Cheney ] adventures against Iran, Pakastan and of course, Georga's Russian population.
At least the beocons picked on 'enemies' that had little abilities to respond with theronuclear weapons.
Zbigniew Brzezinski is a true lunatic and his echelons of propagandists a standard feature of a fascist 'popular' cover.
We get whipsawed from one dangerous lunatic interventionist faction to the other. All while our standard of living has been deliberately crushed, the police become the military ( and visa versa ) and wennies with amoral agendas try to play us as cattle.
These assholes want a global system of enslavement without restraint but the people are "sorting things out" as the foot on their neck becomes universal. Despite the spin, we are beginning to see who occupies these boots.
