LA Indymedia Workshop June 28th at the LA Social Forum

by LA-IMC Monday, Jun. 23, 2008 at 11:02 AM

What is alternative media and how is it important in the current political and social condition? How can the Indymedia network find new outlets and reach a larger audience?

As part of the upcoming LA Social Forum, the Los Angeles Independent Media Center is offering a workshop for people to learn how to utilize the la.indymedia.org website to publish their own news and participate in a true people's media. Learn how to cover events and do interviews in the field, how to create articles, how to upload media and how to reach millions by posting those words along with photos, sound and video to the la,indymedia.org website.

The workshop will be held this June 28th from 4pm to 6pm on the USC campus in Room THH-110

Please see our workshop at the LA Social Forum at 9:30-11:30 as well!!

The Women's Studies Student Association (WSSA) of Cal State Long Beach will be leading a 2 hour workshop from 9:30 am-11:30 am on violence against women. Our workshop will rely heavily on The Macho Paradox by
Jackson Katz, a feminist book which reframes violence against women as a men's issue. If you can come and support us that would be amazing!
