The De-Racialization of US Politics

by Paul Krugman Sunday, Jun. 22, 2008 at 1:07 PM
mbatko@lycos.com

Ther de-racialization of US politics has implications that go far beyond the possibility that we're about to elect an African-American president. If Mr. Obama wins in Vovember, it will be because our country has already been transformed.

"It’s possible today only because racial division, which has driven US politics rightward for more than four decades, has lost much of its sting."

Because the author says so?

Why do I not believe this? There is no support for this as many studies have shown racism is alive and well in America. What has driven US politics is the hidden hand of a shadow government that controls the candidates, their media exposure and the national agenda isolated from the will of the common people. It does this by crafting a select series of 'issues'.

This is not about race. It's about media power and the mask they construct to provide lies to argue over while they rape us to death.

........that Paul Krugman was an 'economic adviser' to Enron before its demise a few years ago.....so his credibility leaves a great deal to be desired
