Protest Ludacris coming to Cal State Long Beach University!

Just thought maybe you would want to know that Ludacris is coming to Cal State University Long Beach! Not so excited? Us either!

Protest Ludacris com...
ludawebimage3.jpg, image/jpeg, 476x404

If you are upset about Ludacris's misogyny, homophobia, racism, glamorization of capitalism, or advocation of violence against women, then come meet at the main entrance to the pyramid at 730 pm with or without clever signs! Please see attached flier if you would like to repost or announce the protest in class or at campus or community meetings. All are encouraged to show; the Daily 49er (our campus paper) will be covering the protest, but a notoriously anti-feminist section editor will be taking it on, so let’s make a big showing!

Thanks!

See this article in the OC Weekly about Indy Media. The author does not understand that Indy Media is not a media company.

It is so refreshing to read a strong and rational feminine prospective.

However, I'm not really sure if even the LA collective knows their mission anymore with the hyjinks the technical staff are involved with.

[ and you know what I mean, LA IMC ]

But it is a tool and being such, one makes due with the parameters of action it allows the readership.

Looking forward to reading more from you.

Language

by Lady Madonna Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 at 3:25 PM

"Faggot", "hoe", and "whore", all words used by Ludacris, are not just words, they are tactics of keeping entire groups of people down, making them dismissable and easier to hurt, physically and otherwise. Another word he uses, "pimp", may be used today in different ways then its literal meaning, but it carries the violence and misogyny regardless. We must remember, pimps are rapists. They are batterers. Exploiters of women. Let us not participate in his uneducated, hateful speech, especially that in which he speaks about hitting women with cars, and putting them "six feet deep." We once dismissed racial slurs, "kike", "wetback", "chink", as just words. But we know that those words were intended to hurt us, not just in personal, "you hurt my feelings" kind of ways, but in huger oppressive and hateful ways.
