Hundreds Attend Anti-War Protest & Picket in Hollywood , January 31.
Los Angeles- Shouting “: CLINTON ,OBAMA YOU WILL SEE, THE IRAQI PEOPLE WILL BE FREE!” Hundreds of activists ralled outside the Kodak Theatre 6801 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles last January 31,2008
Also shouting and holding banners that said: End the war and occupation now! All U.S. and foreign troops out of Iraq immediately! Money for jobs, housing, education, health care - not for racist war! the rallyist braved the cold weather and stayed up to 7:30 in the evening even after the debates..
The ANSWER Coalition has initiated an anti-war protest and picket this Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Kodak Theatre, outside the pro-war Democratic Party's final presidential debate before the California and other state primaries.
The debate is being sponsored by CNN and the Los Angeles Times, the same corporate media outlets that continually refuse to cover the anti-war struggle.
Aware that the real opposition to the war will be excluded from the debate, the rallyist brought the e true wishes of the people in the U.S. to the streets. On the other hand, the leading Democratic Party candidates are all for continuing the Iraq war, although they all pay lip service to ending it.
Clinton, Obama and Edwards all have refused to guarantee they would remove all U.S. combat troops from Iraq by the end of the next presidential term. They were also non-committal to immigrant demands for full immigrant rights.
As predicted there were no pro-war, anti-immigrant candidate from either war party should get a free pass. The independent people's movement that has led a fierce struggle to stop the war represents the true will of people. ?
The rally was initiated by ANSWER Coalition, joined by the AJLPP, Gabnet-LA, PWC , World Can't Wait and others ??For more info call 213-251-1025 or email
