There is video of 2 men standing on the hill starting the fire. Greek news is saying that they have problems with people starting the fires on purpose because it is illegal to clear the brush by setting fire to it, so they think these 2 did it to clear the brush so that they could begin to build on that land.

Regardless, it sucks. I have been to Greece & you literally cannot walk without running into or upon ancient Greek ruins. They are not guarded or anything, so I can see how the fires are endangering them.
