Thousands marched through Hollywood for their rights to migrate freely across borders on the continent.

The Mexica Movement was proud to participate in this Hollywood march for our people's rights.

After spending the previous day protesting the Minuteklan at Leimert Park the day before,

this event would be almost Klan-free and peaceful.

The most notable feature of the day was the LAPD's support of "Full Rights For Immigrants."

The LAPD's bilingual flyers read as follows:

"Full Rights For Immigrants"

The Los Angeles police Department is committed to working in cooperation with the event organizers to protect your right to free speech. We wish to allow you to engage in marches, demonstrations, protests and rallies in the city of Los Angeles to freely express your opinions.

The goal is to provide you with an atmosphere that is safe and in harmony with your right to free speech. We appreciate your cooperation in assisting us in our ability to ensure that you have a positive experience."

"Full Rights For Immigrants". LAPD was incredibly polite and professional at the Hollywood march. One marcher was overheard stating that the LAPD were so exceedingly polite and professional, that "all that was missing was them handing out milk and cookies to the marchers."

It looks like the police need cooperation from the community. Immigrants, particularly the undocumented, tend to participate in crimes less than Americans, and also tend to be victimized more by Americans.

Agradezco sus esfuerzos contínuos en el campo de la educación de los activistas y/o de los mexicanos u otras personas que migraron de sus tierras natales. Ya que hay tanta enfasis ahora en la legislación, la supuesta reforma migratoria, etc., es muy fácil olvidar que estas tierras fueron robadas, "legalmente" (el trato de Guadalupe...) por el ejercito y el gobierno de los Estados Unidos. Aunque habian personas como Henry David Thoreau (Desobediencia Civil) y Lincoln (?) que opusieron "The Mexican War", no pudieron parar el imperialismo y el "destino manifiesto" que predicaron con mucho fervor los imperialistas de la época. Decian: "El Creador nos ha otorgado todas las tierras del oceano Atantico al oceano Pacifico."

Ustedes nos ayudan a recordar que los migrantes tienen más derecho de estar aqui que tienen los blancos

Es valiosa su persistencia y el rigor intelectual que contribuyen a la lucha.
