Pro-Immigration/Amnesty Protest on Broadway, Downtown Los Angeles 04.07.07 : LA IMC

At this point in the US, white racism, while not about to give up the ghost, has mostly been reduced to a passive stance.

The Minutemen, after 2 years of organizing and more free media than anyone outside of Bush, including daily media propaganda on a truly mass scale on hate radio stations like KABC and KFI across the country,still cannot draw as many as 200 people to a demo- and never have.
They never will.

Most white Americans are not _driven_ by _conscious_ hate, the hate is passive and inarticulate, or absent in some cases. The Minutemen have no mass base. And most likely never will.

The Minutemen/SOS organizations have been unable to organize a protest/march/rally/parade in numbers remotely comparable to ours. At the most, they have had around 200 in one place at one time!
Although this march in Downtown LA on Saturday drew smaller crowds than the first May Day march, we still had around 10,000-15,000 people at one location.
The Minutemen can only DREAM of these kinds of numbers at THEIR events!
Closing down select day labor centers here and there will do absolutley nothing to advance their cause. Migrants are used to picking up and moving on to another location, hence the word 'migrant'. In my opinion, the Minutemen/SOS are cowards for taking this route. Not only are they attacking & harrassing peaceful, hardworking people, they totally avoid the goverment & big business, and that is who they really should be going after. Their hands are tied. The conservative Repugs that they voted into office have ignored their pleas of tougher immigration due to the fact that the goverment & big business are in bed together on the immigration issue.
It must be truly frustrating for the Mintuemen/SOS. The people they voted into office thinking that they'll have their backs have deserted them.
Now, they are forced to ride on floats with banners that read, "Reperations Now!", side & recruit black americans to not only try & get rid of that whole racist image, but to try to increase their numbers.
There's nothing more telling than watching a conservative red neck cowboy wearing a Confederate flag shirt having to march next to a float that reads "Reperations Now!" in an ANTI_IMMIGRATION parade, then engaging in inter-organiztion fights over the whole thing later!!!!

Minutemen/SOS= Pathetic. Desperate. Losing.

Been to alot of anti war and immigrant march and rally, i was estimating this past march was about 35000 to 40000 people. It was a great number being the day before easter, overcast, and a pre may day march and rally.
