Peace activist Jerry Rubin broke a month-long hunger fast for peace and publically displayed a 1000-foot-long Message Scroll for Peace at the West Los Angeles Federal Building on Monday, March 19, 2007, to mark the fourth anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq. The scroll bears thousands of anti-war messages for president bush.

Rubin began his liquid-only fast and started gathering messages on the peace scroll on Valentine's Day, February 14.

Rubin says, "The Iraq War was started with deception and false statements, and now, four years later, must certainly be called a quagmire. The best way for Americans to support our troops is to demand that they be brought home now."

Rubin is 63and resides in Santa Monica. He is no relation to the late 1960's anti-war activist of the same name.

Rubin says he plans to send the peace scroll to the White House, but not before Dennis Kucinich presents it to assembled Democrats at the CA State Convention in San Diego.
