When Ted Hayes announced his intention to join with the white supremacist Minutemen organization, he became the latest in a long line of opportunists, fortune seekers and ordinary Uncle Toms, who are willing to do the bidding of black America’s enemies. The quickest way for black people to find fame, fortune and good press is to publicly denounce what is in the best interest of their own people.

Hayes’ moniker is “homeless activist.” He began cashing in on his local renown in Los Angeles when he campaigned for President Bush in 2004. As a reward he became the subject of fawning coverage in the Wall Street Journal. The Journal was pleased not only to find a black Republican to promote, but one with locked hair whom they dubbed the “Rasta Republican.” Now Hayes is the toast of Fox news, having formed the Crispus Attucks Brigade and declaring his intention to join the Minutemen along the border of the U.S. and Mexico.

The Minutemen claim to be upset only about the illegal nature of immigration. It is an inconvenient fact that self-described white supremacists have promoted the Minutemen and their effort to patrol the border. Confederate and Nazi flags have been proudly unfurled at Minutemen events.

Black people marching arm in arm with white supremacists is the ultimate insult, a sign that black leadership has utterly failed to create an agenda that is of any use. Nature abhors a vacuum, and Ted Hayes and company are happy to fill it.

The activism in the mostly Latino immigrant community has been controversial throughout the country, but that controversy is especially tragic for black America. The sight of millions of recently arrived Americans who demand citizenship and the full rights of other Americans, has created resentment among a group who should see the opportunity for allies on a host of issues.

Most of the resentment towards immigrants is caused by fear of competition for scarce jobs and resources. The magnitude of the activism should tell us that this sea change in the demographic and political landscape need not be detrimental to black people.

At a time when thousands of well paying blue collar jobs disappear from General Motors and Delphi, the need for labor activism should be obvious. The need to work with other groups who are willing to march en masse should be obvious.

While we wonder if marching is still relevant, newly arrived immigrants who don’t speak English risk deportation and take to the streets by the millions. As the rates of job loss, incarceration, and stolen votes all increase, our supposed leaders ask if marching is still relevant. Immigrants should be an inspiration if nothing else.

Hayes may be a true believer in the nativist cause, he may be an opportunist, he may be crazy, but he isn’t completely stupid. Naming his group for Crispus Attucks may give him credibility with the credulous. Attucks was a black man who was the first to fall in the Boston Massacre in 1770. Bringing up a revered name in black history can keep even a Wall Street Journal icon out of trouble.

Hayes has made good on his new notoriety, spouting statements so foolish that even Sean Hannity of Fox News sees the need to rephrase and clarify.

HANNITY: You're under fire for saying the biggest threat to blacks in America since slavery is illegal immigration. A lot of people don't like the fact that you made that analogy. How do you...

HAYES: Absolutely. Because it's true.

HANNITY: I've known you a long time. You never – you never shy away from a fight or a controversy. What did you mean by that for maybe somebody who didn't understand what you meant?

HAYES: If this illegal immigration process continues, it is going to completely destroy us. We are losing our homes, our lands, our houses, our employment.

HANNITY: But is it wrong to compare it to slavery – the criticism?

HAYES: What do you mean is it wrong to compare it to slavery?

HANNITY: You use the words "biggest threat to blacks in America since slavery" and people are offended that you said that.

HAYES: Yes, yes. Yes, because it's destroying us. We're dying as a people, and they're doing it in the name of our civil rights. They're invoking the name of Martin Luther King. They got nothing to do with that.

HANNITY: In other words, you're saying the moral comparison is unfair?

HAYES: Yes, it is. They cannot be claiming what they're going through is the same as slavery. We are immigrants, not by choice. We came here against our will. We came in here backward. And we've been struggling from slavery through Jim Crow and 40 years of social welfare. It's destroyed our people.

Like the broken clock that is right twice a day, Hayes is correct that black America is struggling. The struggle is not caused by day laborers looking for work at Home Depot. It exists because corporate interests who once employed millions of Americans and paid living wages no longer do so. The struggle exists because a functioning public education system has been replaced by a prison industrial complex.

As Hayes marches arm in arm with nativist racists, all Americans are losing what remains of their rights of citizenship. It took a group of newcomers to remind us what is at stake in this country. They are the marchers we need to join, not white supremacists and certainly not Ted Hayes.

The ghosts of Mississippi must be turning uneasy in their sleep.

Any grouyp of individuals that acquire their Constutionally mandated equal rights does _not_ adversely impact the rights and lives of others. Blacks acquired a greater degree of equality under the law thanks to King and Malcom and yet now some "collaborationists" want to deny other non-whites their right to be equal under the law.

"I got mine. You can't have yours." That's about as unamerican an ideology as one can advocate.

It bears no resemblance to Ted Hayes, and seems to have no purpose other than to post a vile picture of a black man. Secondly, the poster calls themselves "cool arrow which is an English transliteration of a derogatory Mexican term for gay men. NO Mexican, straight, gay, male or female,would call themselves this, so the poster has taken a swipe at Blacks and Mexicans and gay men in one swoop.

Fear

"Fear is the path to the dark side..."

All sentient creatures experience fear at some point in their lives; it is a defense mechanism designed to impel creatures away from danger. One feels fear when they believe they may lose something valuable to them. Fear for one's own life is the most common motivator, but the fear can be for the lives or friends of loved ones, or even something as trivial as the loss of a possesion or opportunity.

One acts out of genuine fear when they abandon reason and logic in order to eliminate or escape a threat. Unreasoning fear is characterized by desperation and frantic attempts to escape the danger at any cost. People who use the most lethal weapon available (regardless of their proficiency with it), attack all-out without first determining the actual degree of danger, or abandon threatened allies to save their own lives are almost certainly acting out of fear. Their journey to the dark side has begun.

Anger

"...fear leads to anger..."

Like fear, anger is almost unavoidable for sentient beings. It is symptomatic of frustration- stress without a suitable means of release. Such tension results in violent behavior, aimed at relieving the frustration all at once. It can be brought on by a variety of factors, but most commonly relates to fear. The fear of the consequences of failure can create tremendous surges of anger in sentient beings.

Someone acting out of anger loses the ability to show mercy; the target of his anger must feel his wrath. One gripped by anger often takes uneccesary risks in order to punish or destroy the target of his ire. Victory is not good enough if the foe is still moving. The angry do not wish to adress the situation when they are rational; she needs to vent her fury now, while her blood is boiling and her enemy is within reach. Such a person deliberately gives her anger free rein, and thus gives in to the dark side.

Hatred

"...anger leads to hatred..."

Stress can also result in a more subtle kind of anger: hatred. Hatred is a simmering resentment, the outward expression of which may start small but gradually escalates into full-scale acts of violence. Hatred festers inside someone until eventually they come to believe that the target of their hatred somehow has less right to exist than they do. In their own mind, they reduce thier enemy to a nebulous menace, the source of all the things she despises and of all the ills that plague them. To their thinking, the target of her hatred consciously attempts to thwart them. But it is not a personal vendetta; their enemy clearly threatens all that they touch. The hateful person has a right and even a duty to destroy their enemy and, what's more, to undo all that their enemy has wrought.

Hatred is often identifiable by an accompanying sense of righteousness; the person feels that he is morally bound to eliminate the thing that he hates. For him, considerations and mitigating circumstances are not a factor. Lenience is not an option. Justice is his to administer, and he does so with the assurance that anyone can plainly see the correctness of his decision. But whether he is right or wrong, the very fact that he acts out of his beliefand nothing else brings him one step closer to the dark side.

Suffering

"...hate leads to suffering."

Hatred often springs from a sensation of inferiority. What one cannot control, one frequently hates. But when a person has the power has the power of life and death over the object of his hatred- a single individual, or even an entire galaxy- he can cause suffering. Mental, verbal, and physical abuse are his tools; through these methods, the person denigrates and depersonalizes his victims- making them no more significant than objects, to be used or destroyed as he likes.

Malice is the ultimate expression of hatred, because the object of such hate invariably suffers. A person who wishes to cause suffering has no sense of pity. He callously causes pain, injury, and anguish, because he knows no one has the power to stop him- he is in command. But he has graduated beyond the need to destroy what he hates; to him, keeping his victims alive but always in fear of death reminds them of his authority over them. As long as he can continue to exert control over them, they feed his contempt for them. But should they challenge him, they present a threat, and he must destroy them. Thus, he returns to fear, and trances his path to the dark side all over again.

Remember the baseline philosophy and strategy of SOS is the "Transference of Pain," as Turner puts it. In his profound egocentrism, Turner has embraced a belief in his own "destiny" as he calls it. What he is actually describing is the surge of "power" he experiences through the "Transference of Pain."

"cool arrow" is probably a semi-regular poster on IMC who goes by another name. A while back, one of the um, more right-wing and angry native american posters, 'canat', dubbed him "cool arrow", so dude just ran with it.

I thought it was funny, because, not too long ago, there was a record label out of SF called "Kool Arrow" that put out some records by unique musicians.

Maybe calling someone an "as-f---er" doesn't have much sting, when, with the click of a mouse, you could be exposed to hundreds of hours of heterosexual cool-arrow-ism.

It's like, back in the 70s, people dissed my ethnic group for eating raw fish. It was a joke on the tv, and people thought it was disgusting, diseased, and just an all-around affront to the (offensive) American tradition of well-done meat.

Well, now, it's 30 years later, and everyone wants to eat raw fish. All the cool kids are doing it. They're even eating their beef rare instead of well-done or medium.

In 20 years, everyone will be doing it, and you'll hear horror stories of live tapeworms in the Snapper McSushi, caused by un-ecological farming practices.

Anyway, back to the butt of the issue. Maybe c-a is just wearing the appellation for effect. Maybe he likes doing it. Maybe he doesn't, but knows that there's some cachet to doing it, or at least thinking it's okay. That's among those who think of themselves as ahead of the curve... the 1980s sushi eaters, so to speak. You know - the kind who only tried it a couple times, didn't really like it, but were really into sitting at the bar, and watching the guy make it.

I mean make sushi, not the other thing.

Anyway, to belabor the point, times change and attitudes change. The new trend today is vegetarianism; it's even healthier than mercury laden raw tuna. Eating sushi's out, and tossed salad is in.

Ted Hayes and I have secured the permit to assemble on Sunday March 25, 2007 at 12:00 noon at the intersection of Olympic and Broadway in Los Angeles. We will then march north on Broadway to the south side of the LA City Hall and have our rally. These are our rights as Americans!
The LAPD has contacted Ted and advised we are in for trouble. The Spanish speaking radio stations are broadcasting to their listeners for them to come to LA on Sunday and shut us down! They have no permit and no right to threaten us. LAPD will have 175 officers at our location but believe there may be 13,000 protesters headed our way to "shut us down".
We have called on the Mayor of LA to ask the Governor to bring in the National Guard to support the police.
Today, at 4:30 PM Ted and I will be on the John & Ken Show AM Radio 640. Be sure to listen and call in.
We will be holding a press conference tomorrow time and location TBA.

Since this Ted Hayes individual is trying SO hard to attain legitimacy, why not organize a laugh squad to point and gafaw every time this organ grinder's monkey hits the stage? The SOS/MM are trying to get the National Guard to babysit for them this Sunday. I doubt that will happen. They think they can just decide what to do with the National Guard, whether it's put them on the border or in Hollywood. Imagine what they would have them do if they had everything their way. If the Minutemen held enough city council, mayor, governor, and other seats people could be arrested and sentenced for something simple like handing a bottle of water to someone at a rally who's here against US immigration laws on the basis of "aiding and abetting." That's why no one with or affiliated with the MM/SOS should ever hold an office, including Tom Tancredo. I'm all for having order at the border, but whoever leads such a plan must make it clear that he/she is not doing it for the Minutemen. Otherwise, don't trust them.

After several years of the Minutemen/SOS groups rise into corporate media's viewfinder, several questions about the sources of their funding have emerged. A central figure in this drama is the neo-conservative African-american talk radio host and political candidate Alan Keyes..

"The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps has been under scrutiny from The Washington Times and others recently for its finances – for example, the largest portion of its 2005 budget went to unspecified “professional services.” Times reporter Jerry Seper has written in the past about the close association of the Minutemen with a variety of consulting groups associated with Alan Keyes, who is also the head of the Declaration Alliance. The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps bills itself as “a project of” the Declaration Alliance, and MCDC president Chris Simcox has defended the ties as adding credibility to his group.

Now Seper reports in The Times that the Declaration Alliance and its associated Declaration Foundation are having their own credibility problems:

The Declaration Foundation … was fined $6,500 in August and prohibited by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Charitable Organizations from soliciting donations until it becomes "properly registered." The Aug. 18 "agreement and order," signed by Declaration Foundation Executive Director Mary Parker Lewis, a top Minuteman adviser, acknowledged that the charity made false statements in seeking to solicit donations, failed to properly administer money it had collected, and withheld documents sought as part of an "investigative subpoena."

According to the bureau, the Declaration Foundation failed over a four-year period to submit audited financial statements, gave false information when it said it did not share revenue with other nonprofit or tax-exempt groups, and misstated the truth when it said none of its officers or employees was tied to any vendor providing services or goods.

The bureau said the Declaration Foundation improperly shared revenue with the Declaration Alliance, another tax-exempt charity founded by Mr. Keyes, which also has been active in overseeing the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC)."

Clearly people can stop promoting the false belief that the Minutemen/SOS are just a bunch of ignorant yahoos who just can't stand to hear some Espanol spoken at their corner bar in English-america. The sources for the funding of the MM/SOS operations is coming from somewhere in the upper echelons of the neo-con political heirarchy. Simply put, it's not just about 'good' ol' fashioned bigotry against Mexican immigrants. There are deeper and more sinister forces at work here promoting the anti-immigrant hysteria (without looking at WTO/NAFTA as source of problem). People should not underestimate the power of propaganda funded from undisclosed places on high, lest we forget how the Nazi government's grip on the minds of the German people enabled the Nazi Holocaust..

My theory is that the seed idea for the Minutemen/SOS project is somewhere in the halls of the CIA, nothing less than PSYOPs mind control to set people against their neighbors across the border without any common understanding on how people are being played against one another like pawns as if a giant chess game..

Of course the funding for MM/SOS doesn't come directly from the CIA, though their intelligence in promoting a cultural war between linguistic groups along the US/MEX border would nicely deflect any potential critique of the problems caused by NAFTA/WTO that fuel the economic inequality between class and culture..

Unfortunately a great many people are easily led astray by exploitation of their fears, biases and uncertainties to feel hate and judge others who are different and/or less fortunate. This category makes up the fervent 'footsoldiers' majority of the MM/SOS groups, these sad people should not be receiving the brunt of the pro-immigrant groups anger or insults, though education and outreach is needed to bridge the gap of ignorance (sometimes on both 'sides' of the debate) before the CIA mindfuck program called MM/SOS takes full effect in the form of a race war..

That being said the so-called 'leftists' or pro-immigrant opposition hasn't exactly been doing the best job either of telling the entire truth. Usually the liberal leftist reactionary response to the MM/SOS tirades are tired liberal cliches like "Immigrants strenghten US economy" or "We're a nation of immigrants." or other statements that distract people from discovering the reality of economic induced immigration to north america..

The leftist response to defend immigrants from being scapegoated by MM/SOS is understandable, though again at the core it is a knee-jerk polar opposite reaction to the 'border wall' mentality of the extremist MM/SOS position. ("Immigration bad! No, immigration good!") However, by failing to critique WTO/NAFTA as the source of poverty induced immigration to el norte the leftists fall directly into the MM/SOS trap of defending immigration AND the process of economic exploitation by US corporations operating in Mexico as the source of this immigration..

(Maybe immigration good for source of cheap labor for US agribusiness corporations, though not so good for Mexican farmers who lose their land and die in desert, eh?)

The benefits to the US economy is in the form of below minimum wage labor that would not ordinarily exist if the Mexicans had their land and economy intact at home. So the next question follows, "Just how did the Mexicans lose their farmland and economy?"

Agribusiness corporations in the US like Cargill, Monsanto and others have since the implementation of WTO/NAFTA been flooding the Mexican economy with cheap, GMO corn (maize) that results in Mexican farmers being driven into poverty and landlessness, thus inducing migration. The US agri-plantations are more than happy to have economic refugees skilled in farming come north and work themselves into debt slavery for below minimum wage..

Competing with highly subsidized U.S. farmers is driving their Mexican counterparts into bankruptcy. This assault on poor farmers down at the bottom of the food chain will be exacerbated at the end of 2007 when all tariffs on U.S. corn are abolished. Meanwhile President Calderon seeks to tamp down tortilla prices by importing up to 2,000,000 duty-free tons to augment what Mexican farmers can or cannot produce. Such a solution is guaranteed to drive more farmers off the land. Even worse is that much of the new influx of NAFTA corn will be transgenic."

No, a US/MEX border wall is NOT desirable, though neither is forcing Mexican farmers off their land and having them labor as debt slaves in the agri-plantations of el norte..

BTW, before ANY of the immigrants came to either of the americas, neither English nor Spanish were spoken here. Both European derived languages have contributed greatly to loss of a diverse family of indigenous languages found on BOTH sides of the imaginary US/MEX border. Seems silly to be fighting over which European language should dominate in the americas, eh?

1. If you are not attending, please do not announce it to the world. It is like telling people, I am not going, it is not important, so you stay home too. We need EVERYONE who can make it to make it to this one!!! Realize the significance of this ONE event. The date is March 25th!! March 25 is the first march & boycott of the illegals last year. It was their "civil rights march". This is the day that Mayor La Raza and Fabian Nunez and others stood at City Hall and made all their racist remarks!! This time the AMERICANS are claiming this date!!!! We are taking our country back!!!!

2. There is no clique!! Unless you want to call the entire SOS patriotic American membership a clique. Some of us have become very strong friends, but we do not just share information that is important with each other. Please do not falsely assume anything. I am keeping the parking info off this forum for safety reasons. The illegal crowd reads this forum, so if you want to be safe and you would like to keep your vehicle safe, then do not share this information on a public forum. If you read my earlier posts, I invited everyone to pm me for parking details. So please pm me if you need parking details.

3. Originally the event was starting at 11am, however an error was made in the permit filing, so adjustments/corrections were made, thus the slight time change. The event starts at noon!! Do not show up before 11:30am!! I corrected Ted and the flyer information from his site has been pulled.

4. OP, not sure why you are deleting everyone's posts..did I miss something? For the record, shared a conference call with Ted yesterday. It is a FACT that the police are sharing with us their reports and concerns. LAPD did receive word about a group of 13,000 illegals/supporters who will march and try to meet us head on. Another group claims that they will march to the Federal Building and surround it and City Hall. Of course LAPD nor Ted, nor David, nor I know the actual number that will be attending, however the LAPD is receiving more than one report. It is better to be aware, come prepared, be ready and expect anything!

5. This march is already receiving national attention and made some national news publications today. This march is being talked about on the radio..John & Ken yesterday, plus several other programs and blogs. (I have missed the media conferences due to business conflicts. Ted wants me to be at the one tomorrow, but not sure I will be able to attend.) This is the most pre-publicity we have received for an event that I am aware of thus far.

Please come represent SOS!!!!! We need videographers please!!! A couple of my friends will be down there filming, but please bring your cameras!!! Bring AMERICAN FLAGS!!!!! Want the flags this time!!

This event has the possibility of turning into something bigger. So Americans, this is your time to defend your nation from the illegal invaders!!!
