The Modern battle of Karbala took place during February 2007in Karbala in present day iraq. On one side were supporters & relatives of the prophet Muhammad’s main man Moktada al Sadr and on the other side were a military detachment from the forces of Bush the lesser from the Christian caliph.

The size of Moktada al sadr’s group was very small, and included included many humble members of the local community. There were only 73 male members, and of which many were either very old or very young. On the other side were over 30,000 heavily armed forces of Bush the lesser lead by his General Petreaus.

On 7th February 2007 Petreaus's forces followed and surrounded the traveling group of Moktada and cut-off their access to food and water. For three days in the heat of Iraqi desert, these men were made to suffer the thirst and hunger before they were brutally slaughtered on the deserts of Karbala.

The modern battle of Karbala, will have significance in Islamic History for many reasons but mostly for the stories of courage and great sacrifices that were displayed by Moktada and his men for the protection of the true teachings of Islam from being hijacked by the corrupt, brutal and power-hungry regime of Bush the lesser.
