A solidarity march for the people of Oaxaca took place today through the heart of Los Angeles’ Oaxacan Community. This was a grassroots organized march, no permit, started on the sidewalk and spilled into the street, marchers took the street. Police did not interfere and instead provided traffic control. The march took a winding route through the community to the Mexican consulate. Hundreds took part this march, it was peaceful and connected to onlookers in a way that controlled permit marches do not.

I support Oaxaca. people should know what is going on. But its hard when you are demonstrating in Spanish....and most of the country speaks English.
