Protest occurring outside Mexican consulate now
Caller reports about 50 people there now, with more arriving. Members of local Oaxacan community there with a contingent of South Central Farmers, Korean Immigrants Workers Alliance (KIWA), a delegation from La Otra, and others in solidarity with the people of Oaxaca. Candlelight display for victims of the PFP has been set up. Some protesters are flying black flags.
LAPD and organizers negotiating over use of the sound system. Police threatening to order it turned off. Organizers say they have the right to use it. Protest peaceful at this time. No arrests.
