Tan Nguyen, Republican candidate for the 47th Congressional District, is seen in the below photographs mingling with House
Speaker Dennis Hastert and National Republican
Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Reynolds. Nguyen is currently under investigation by the California State Attorney General's Office, U.S. Department of Justice, FBI, and other law enforcement agencies for allegedly sending out more than 14,000 letters to mostly-Mexican familes in the 47th Congressional District threatening all "immigrants" with jail or deportation if they voted.

Hello everybody: I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh over the latest scandal that has rocked the Republican Party during the past few days. Although I take the issue of voter intimidation very seriously, the allegations about who sent out threatening letters to 14,000 mostly-Mexican families in the 47th Congressional District is unraveling a whole new can of worms that might make the GOP a third party in California. Tan Nguyen has got to be one of the dumbest, most idiotic candidate I've ever seen so far running in any election here in Orange County. But even dumber are the GOP bigwigs whom allowed themselves to be photographed with him. You can see images of House Speaker Dennis Hastert and National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Reynolds shaking hands with Tan on his website: http://65.45.193.26:8026/cms/acct/tan4congress/gallery/i0602182.html Although the Republican Party is trying to distance itself away from his candidacy, it's clear that Tan's one of them. The photographs prove that anybody with lots of money to throw around will win the hearts of top GOP bigwigs anytime. My guess is these shots were done in return for campaign contributions. It's only when "one of their own" gets caught doing something incredibly naughty that the Republicans go into damage control mode! Tan's been running an incredibly racist campaign in the 47th Congressional campaign. He's aligned himself with the Minuteman vigilantes, depicted Muslims as terrorists, and has strongly hinted that his opponent, Democratic Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, among other things, is linked to Hezbollah. The local GOP has said nary a word about any of these things. Sincerely, Duane J. Roberts duaneroberts92804@yahoo.com

I wonder how much money the National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman wanted for this photo shot of him with Tan?

Maybe the reason why Tan is smiling is because he bought a new car from one of the auto dealerships that Congressman Campbell owns?

this whole incident is disgusting!! i am very pis*%& off at tan nguyen and all of the talk-radio propagandists who are trying to diffuse or justify or dismiss this violation of the law. end of discussion.
thought i might pass on a little info. over at saveourstate.org, there is a member by the name of NguyenRhymesWithWin that posts in the forum, and his avitar is a pix of tan nguyen. here is some of the poster's "insight":
"I don't know if these cross any lines.
"The Only Spanish Assistance you Deserve.. ¡Aprenda el Inglés! " or however "learn english" is said in Spanish. Also, this doesn't imply illegal immigration or deportation so it's might not be applicable to a lot of you to use
"Let's Help You Cross The Border.. On Your Way Back Home "
"If your Mexican Culture is so Great. Why Aren't You at Home Enjoying it ? ""
now i don't know if the sos member is tan himself, but even if it isn't you can see what kind of hateful atmosphere is created by tan nguyen. imagine what this monster and his associates say behind closed doors.

Since we're all ranking on the guy...
I want to know is if he protested against that picture of Ho Chi Minh in the video store. :-)
If he is going to make a big deal about his name being mispronounced, why didn't he just change the spelling to "Win" or "Wynn"? Then it'll be mispronounced as much as every other non-English name in America. It'll also send the "right message" to his constituents.
TW: Tan was born in Vietnam and was, with his parents, a refugee.
Here's an interesting statement from his website:
>>[Tan supports] pharmaceuticals for the elderly (medicines should be permitted to be re-imported from Canada).
What? You mean he supports getting a free ride from the socialist medical system of Canada? Is this another American politician unwilling to unite against Big Pharma, but willing to piggyback on the hard work of liberals in a country that's poorer than California, but at least has the courage to stand up to greedy drug companies?
Yeah, sounds like it. Sounds like another "Medicare Part D" Bush-drug-scam supporter, too.
And, on his site, he rails against big money, but he works as a financial advisor (aka, "financial products salesman"). Isn't the financial sector, like, the second largest donor to all politicians, giving almost all their money to Republicans?
When Bush got into office (both of them!) we went to war for oil. Maybe that's because the Bushes made their fortune in oil.
If this character gets into office, the government's going to be suckered into endless "easy credit rip offs", like in the theme song from "Good Times." They'll legalize the 60-year home mortgage and inherited liabilities. Maybe they'll start enforcing monetary policy with nuclear weapons. (Oh shit, we already did that in Iraq, didn't we.)

I wonder if this Republican is one of those neo-Nazis seen with the "Save Our State" / "Minutemen" scumbags who wave Nazi and Confederate flags. His white supremacist ideologies are outrageously ironic given that he's an Asian immigrant himself.

his belief, and that of his ilk, is if they kiss Whitey's a$$ long enough they'll be "accepted" in "maistream amerikkka".

I've only met Tan once last time he was running for congress. Just came off as a guy trying to get a target audience to get elected to office. If he's responsible for the sending of those letters, I wonder if he was trying to impress his Minuteman buddies. Could be one those who I'm sure has taken this approach to this issue so far, he wouldn't dare change course fearing a loss of friends and support. I'm sure there are quite a few people out there in that situation. I was faced with that and we know what happened there, I chose integrity...

There's no "changing this system from within." The system tests you first to make absolutely sure you'll never do that. If you don't pass, you don't get in. If you manage to trick them, you get Wellstoned
There's only one way to change this system, and that's KILL IT

Not only has Tan been in contact with the CCIR, he was a speaker at one of their meetings. That's where I met him.

I see that the scumbag's office was raided. I wonder how many white supremacists have come to his defense so far.
