Stolen election AGAIN? Help spark a general strike Nov. 8!

by Phalanx Saturday, Oct. 07, 2006 at 8:53 PM

Before it's too late...

I remember my first general strike while visiting in Spain--against a law that gutted labor protections. We packed the streets and watched for police, if and when someone smashed a window. It was exhilarating and it's what WE need to do on November 8, the day after the stolen election.

WHAT PEOPLE IN THE UKRAINE AND MEXICO KNOW IS THAT YOU MUST SHUT DOWN THE MACHINE TO COMPEL CHANGE.

The Bush e-machine will certainly try the same tricks in one month. Six to 11 point leads will vanish in a flurry of late e-aberrations. It will be attributed to peculiarities in each case, if not a kind of October surprise (although an attack on Iran would risk Bush being pushed out for malfeasance, given military impatience with his incompetency). But if it looks like all Senate seats are up for Dems to grab, the formula will simply be re-adjusted. Instead of a four-seat lead, it will go down to a modest two for Bush's e-regime, plus an eleven-seat lead in the House. *It isn’t a partisan issue, folks. It’s about our common future. The US is being prevented from evolving.

The stakes are high: Bush’s possible move into Iran (he seems to be trying to screw up), and continued nuclear obliteration of Iraq/Afghanistan peoples' genetic safety for the next 4 billion years with DU. Corporate greed rains it upon them like excrement. The loss of habeus corpus, plus Bush's ability to kill US citizens that he or some star chamber decide are "enemies," has scared many. But they need encouragement to be able to shut down the nation on the day after…

So how do we move people to where they can act on the day after? We need a chorus, but how many corporate media dependents are capable of advocating an actual "down-tick" on Wall St.? Can independent media do it? Not alone. We somehow need to mobilize clear-headed writers among corporate press, plus unions, to be prepared to say NO WAY IN HELL! But some need a minor liberation to take that first step to shut the nation down.

It can be done but we may need telltale indicators of the vote scheme. A recent Princeton study showing that one single computer could overthrow the whole election should have sounded an alarm, but the crowd is asleep at the moment. To flood out into the streets, unwilling to cooperate with a monster regime, is the only way to do it.

IT’S EXCITING TO BE A PART OF! IMAGINE SEEING HISTORY CHANGE BEFORE YOUR EYES AS PEOPLE STAY HOME AND SHUT THE NATION DOWN. THAT’S A REAL VOTE!

While habeus corpus has been discarded and an idiot-prop has been given license to kill and maim, even crunch the testicles of babies, the Foley story eclipses the fact that hard-won revolutionary gains are being compromised by Bushco. The petty morality of recent elections is trained more on the titillating, minor aspects than the major scheme of history. Without a normal rotation of officeholders, there is no corrective dynamic.

You can almost feel the future tug on the present: It will be another stolen election. But this time, Bush wants to immerse us all in his simple-minded little hell for crimes against humanity. Too many coffins arrive daily but are hidden, disregarded as those of mere servants. Thousands dead per month in Iraq is civil war, the worst possible outcome.

A frontal assault on basic rights should be fatal to a regime. But we need to awaken the crowd. We need electricity in the air. This election isn't about industrial issues at the local level. It's about competent science, converting a dictatorship back to evolutionary democracy, and a move toward international justice—it’s only a matter of time.

HELP LIGHT THE SPARK! SHUT IT DOWN ON NOV. 8 -- BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!
