Quienes son los Minutemen? Por un lado, ellos son los vigilantes con pistolas con disfrases que patrullan la frontera con Mexico por tierra, aire, y mar, tratando de construir las paredes y bardas, y ilegalmente deteniendo familias e individuos. Por la parte más grande, es una organización de propaganda que promueve sus ideas incredúlas por la prensa. Miembros y apoyadores han usado el Los Angeles Times, estaciones de radio y televisión que son conservadoras (AM KFI 640, MSNBC, FOX NEWS), y la internet para dar su mensaje. Por tales medios, día a día, nosotros oímos la noción constante que las familias Latinas de la clase obrera (la mayoria Mexicanas) tienen la culpa por los problemas que tienen los trabajadores afro-americanos y anglo-sajones. Ellos tratan de ver “La Invación Imigrante” como algo comparado a “La Guerra Contra el Terorísmo” y como una amenaza immesa a la “Forma de Vida Americana.” En los ojos de los grupos como los Minutemen, las dos causas son igúal: el trabajador imigrante = una amenaza terorísta! Cuales son sus metas? Ellos quieren formar la base para una fuerza paramilitar y un movimiento racista-populista que terorisará imigrantes y circular facismo y xenophobia hasta que la comunidad imigrante es expulsada. Jim Gilchrist es el fundador de el Proyecto Minutemen (Inc.) - abiertamente racísta y demagogo, Gilchrist ha tratado de corer por la Casa de Representantes y ha termindado en tercer lugar – una campana presidencial para el 2008 está bajo consideración. El esta promoviendo su libro, con contribución del racista Congresista de Denver Tom Tancredo (R-CO), “Minutemen: La Batalla para Segurar La Frontera Americana.” Nosotros no podemos dejarlos empujar la idea que nuestros enemigos son nuestros companeros de trabajo cuya batalla es poder ganar lo suficiente para vivir y vivir en paz. Nosotros no podemos dejar que ellos hechen la culpa a nuestras comunidades por las consequencias de las polizas de este gobierno que han dado lugar a recesión, guerra, y el desempleo. Nosotros no podemos que agiten por la saqueda de miles que pagan impuestos, trabajan en los campos de Oxnard y Filmore, y que trabajan en as factorias, bodegas, y negocios pequenos de Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, y Camarillo. Nosotros no dejarémos que caminen por nuestras comunidades con esta guerra racista. Nosotros los harámos sentir que no éstan bienvenidos y aislados. No tolerancia por basura racista – Un golpe a uno es un golpe ha todos!

perhaps one way to stop this event is for someone to phone-in a phony bomb threat (joke). seriously though, maybe someone can pull the fire alarm right before gilchrist is scheduled to sign his books. i think that if the fire alarm is triggered, by law, the store has to be evacuated. just a thought. of course, if pulling the fire alarm is illegal, then no one should do it!
